  • Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Race Report
COMMUNIQUÉ DE PRESSE 20141123 ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX RACE REPORT Daniel Ricciardo’s storming performance helped him recover from a pitlane start and end his impressive first season at Infiniti Red Bull Racing with a fourth place finish in today’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Sebastian Vettel couldn’t quite match his teammate’s heroics en route to eighth, while Scuderia Toro Rosso’s JeanEric Vergne just missed out on the points in 12th. Romain Grosjean fought back from grid and drivethrough penalties to finish 13th for Lotus F1 Team, and Caterham F1 Team’s Will Stevens enjoyed a solid first Formula 1 appearance by coming home 17th. Key race points: Abu Dhabi’s unique late evening start time provided a stunning backdrop to the world championship decider and also threw up a variety of tyre strategies as the track cooled throughout the evening. Starting from the pitlane proved no hindrance to the Red Bull pair who diligently picked their way through the midfield during the opening stint on prime tyres. Ricciardo had the best of the traffic and was up to fifth when he pitted for the first time on lap 28. Another fast and consistent stint saw him running third when he stopped for the final time to switch to the option tyres with just eight laps remaining, before finishing one place higher than where he originally qualified. Vettel was also able to charge through on the same strategy but could only finish eighth despite picking off both Fernando Alonso and Nico Rosberg over the final 10 laps.

For more than 115 years Renault has embraced the challenge of motorsport in multiple guises. It recognised the value of competitive activities for technical and commercial gain: in December 1898 Louis Renault drove the Type A Voiturette up the steepest street in Paris, the rue Lepic. The first orders for the ground-breaking car with direct drive flooded in. In 1902 the nimble, lightweight Type K, fitted with Renault’s first 4-cylinder engine, took victory in the Paris-Vienna rally. Again, many more cars were sold. Going through the years, in 1977 Renault introduced the first-ever turbocharged car to F1.

FEDERATION INTERNATIONALE DE L'AUTOMOBILE Press Information 2015 Singapore Grand Prix Thursday Press Conference Transcript 17.09.2015 DRIVERS – Romain Grosjean (Lotus), Sergio Pérez (Force India), Valtteri Bottas (Williams), Roberto Merhi (Manor), Pastor Maldonado (Lotus), Felipe Nasr (Sauber). PRESS CONFERENCE Q: Let’s start with you Romain, back on the podium this year. Do you see many opportunities for getting up there again in the remaining races of 2015. Romain GROSJEAN: Well, let’s put it this way: we didn’t think any podium was possible this year – we did it. So, yeah, I think we’re always eager for more, always trying to do our best. Spa was a beautiful opportunity for us and hopefully there will be much more coming. The best we can do is try to work hard and do the same. Q: Looking ahead to 2016, your thoughts on that? Obviously you’re wanting to see what’s going to happen with Renault and the Lotus deal that’s been discussed a lot – but if that didn’t happen, would you consider… your name has been linked with the Haas team, for example, is that something you would consider. RG: I think the other thing I can tell you is that my decision is… I’ve made my decision, everything is clear in my head and I know what’s going to happen for me in the future – but if you don’t mind I won’t tell you any more. Q: Sergio, coming to you, on the same topic of 2016, Robert Fernley in the press conference in Monza alluded to the fact he was hoping to conclude things with you for next year by Singapore.
