Minnesota State - MSU Grappler, Adam Cooling (Fr., 157 lbs.) capped off his week with a 3-1 record. Cooling’s only loss came Wednesday when he fell to Newberry’s Kayne Melko 4-3, Cooling would however get revenge against Melko at the NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals, this time it was Cooling who would come away with the 4-3 decision. MSU’s next opponent was #8 Indianapolis, Cooling downed Sheldon Struble in a double overtime thriller. In the second sudden victory, Cooling recorded a takedown to win 3-1. His last victory came with a shut-out over Jordan Cowell of Findlay, 4-0. Minnesota State hosted its first match when #4 Newberry came to town. MSU only got two decision wins and dropped the first meeting 30-6. At the NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals, MSU would get another shot at Newberry but fell short 31-6. In the next match, in the consolation round, MSU would gather more points but lose 30-12 versus #8 Indianapolis. In the extra round, MSU continued to earn more points but lost to Findlay, 31-19. MSU’s next action will be at home where they play MSU Moorhead. MSU is 2-4 overall and undefeated, 2-0, in NSIC action.
