“Spirituality is the backbone of all service in the Church and in the Christian life. It is what nourishes all our activity, sustaining and protecting it from human frailty and daily temptation. … Humanity is what makes us different from machines and robots which feel nothing and are never moved. Once we find it hard to weep seriously or to laugh heartily — these are just two signs — we have begun our decline and the process of turning from ‘humans’ into something else. Humanity is knowing how to show tenderness and fidelity and courtesy to all (cf. Phil 4:5). — Pope Francis Reflection: How do allow spirituality to nourish you on a regular basis? Do you find it hard to show your humanity by weeping seriously or laughing heartily? Like us on Facebook – Incarnation, Mantua Visit us at www.incarnation-church.org

CONSECRATION TO ST. JOSEPH

As part of the Year of St. Joseph, the Church of the Incarnation will have a Consecration to St. Joseph. What does it mean to be consecrated to St. Joseph? In his book, Consecration to St. Joseph: The Wonders of our Spiritual Father, Rev. Donald Calloway states that we acknowledge St. Joseph as our spiritual father and we want to be like him. We trust St. Joseph as our spiritual father so that he can take care of our spiritual well-being and lead us to God.

The consecration is open to all members of the Parish. So, how does this work? Rev. Calloway has a 33-day program consisting of readings and prayers that will take about 20 to 30 minutes a day. If you miss a day, just make it up. We will also have a kick-off meeting and then weekly discussion meetings. Don’t worry if you can’t attend all the meetings. We will end the consecration on Friday, March 19, 2021, the Solemnity of St. Joseph with a Mass and final consecration. Here is our schedule:

Meetings – 7:00 PM Zoom Meetings (except the sixth meeting) First – 2/15/2021: Introduction and Day 1, Second – 2/22/2021: Days 2-8, Third – 3/1/2021: Days 9-15, Fourth – 3/8/2021: Days 16-22, Fifth – 3/15/2021: Days 23-29, Sixth – 3/19/2021: Mass and Consecration starting at 6:00 PM.
