    SA supports faculty vote by Tom Saul of The Post staff The student senate passed a resolution Thursday, Feb. 5, supporting the faculty vote opposing an enrollment ceiling at UWM. The resolution, proposed by Bob Fessenbecker, college of Engineering and Applied Sciences senator, was passed with only two dissenting votes. It stated that the SA would go on record op­ posing the current request by the Central Administration in Mad­ m ison for a ceiling. A task force here recently proposed a ceiling of 24,500. The resolution further stated that the SA would go on record opposing any enrollment ceiling at UWM. School of Education Senator David Baumann, in an address to the Senate, said that an enrollment ceiling at UWM would not be in keeping with the mission of an urban university and that it would discriminate against people of minority and low income backgrounds. "Forty percent of Wisconsin minorities and low income students live within 30 miles of UWM," he said. "To put a limit on enroll­ ments here could deny them any kind of higher education. In most cases it would be economically unfeasible for them to go anywhere else."
