The Quakes have a two-game lead in the season series with the 66ers, and Rancho holds a 4.5 game lead in the South Division. Rancho’s chances of making the playoffs are slim, as they are eight back with 12 to play. NORTH W L PCT GB Fresno 71 37 .657 - SUNDAY NIGHT’S GAME: The Quakes erupted in a 19-9 offensive onslaught against the Lake Elsinore Storm. The Storm sent San Jose 67 41 .620 4 Nick Thwaits to the mound for the Sunday matchup, after he earned his first win against the Quakes back on Tuesday. However, this Modesto 59 49 .546 12 start was far different, as Thwaits lasted just 1+ innings against a Rancho offense that swung hot bats right out of the gate. The Tulsa Drillers also took the Sunday victory 9-4 over the Springfield Cardinals. The San Jose 7 Visalia 1 Oklahoma City Dodgers were the only affiliate to lose on Sunday, as they were on the wrong side of a 4-1 score against the Albuquer- Modesto 6 Inland Empire 5 que Isotopes. OKC would rebound on Monday however, as they exploded for 16 hits in a 12-5 win over the Isotopes. Visalia at Lake Elsinore, 5:35 PM NICK NASTRINI: The Quakes will start the series by sending Nick Nastrini to the mound as the game one starter. Nastrini has Stockton at San Jose, 6:30 PM pitched well since joining the ball club after being drafted by the Dodgers in the fourth round of the 2021 draft our of UCLA. Nastrini Fresno at Modesto, 7:05 PM has allowed just on earned run on three hits over his first three starts with Rancho. Though, he has only lasted two innings at most Rancho Cucamonga at Inland Empire, 7:05 PM in any of his starts, Nastrini has totaled 14 strikeouts over those 5.2 innings.
