Minnesota Twins Announce 2012 Schedule Opener at Slated for April 9 vs. Angels

MINNEAPOLIS – ST PAUL, MN – The today announced their preliminary regular schedule for the 2012 season.

The Twins will kick off their 52nd season on the road April 5 – 8 with a three-game series against the (April 5, 7 and 8).

Upon returning to Minnesota, the Twins will mark their third at Target Field on April 9 with a game against the of Anaheim. The Twins will play two more games against the Angels on April 11 and April 12 before hosting their first home weekend series against the (April 13 – 15).

The team’s 18-game interleague schedule includes trips to play at the (May 18 – 20), the Pittsburg Pirates (June 19 – 21) and the Reds (June 22 – 24). The Twins 2012 home interleague schedule features visits to Target Field by the (June 8 – 10), the (June 12 – 14) and the Brewers (June 15 – 17).

Other home schedule highlights include a three-game series against the (April 23 – 25), a three-game series against the (Sept. 24 – 26) and a Memorial Day weekend homestand against the (May 25 – 27) and the (May 28 – 30).

The Twins will close out the 2012 season on the road with a three-game series against the (Oct. 1 – 3).

The Twins will play their Central Division rivals the , Detroit Tigers, and 18 games each. The Twins will face all Central Division teams three series at home and three series on the road.

All home and road game times, as well as related broadcast information, will be announced at a later date.
