Cast: Robert De Niro, Cybill Shepherd, Jodie Foster, Peter Boyle. Summary: Vigilante/action film set in contemporary New York City. Story about a psychotic ex-Marine cabbie, Travis Bickle (De Niro), driven to violence in an attempt to “rescue” a teenage prostitute (Foster). Propelled by this obsession and his rejection by a beautiful political campaign worker (Shepherd), the cabbie begins his violent rampage that includes an attempted assassination of a presidential candidate.
