THE OLD RECTORY CHILTON FOLIAT, RG17 0TF

Mr Mike Wilmott Council Development Services Central County Hall Bythesea Road Trowbridge Wiltshire BA14 8JN

2nd March 2013

Dear Mr Wilmott,

APPLICATION NO: E/2013/02/0218/FUL

Thank you for your letter of the 27th February informing us of the above planning application.

Having lived now in Chilton Foliat for over 40 years we have seen quite a number of changes in the village over the years. Some have involved the demolition of some very old houses as well as some houses built much more recently in the 20th century to make way for new developments or single houses. Our end of the village, which is near the Church, has recently been improved by the new house built next door to us by Mr Franklin on the site of the old Vicarage which was built in the 1950s. This new house built with the use of brick and flint blends in so well with our house next door, The Old Rectory, which was built in the 17th century .

I have now looked at the planning application for the two new houses to be built on the site of 50 Chilton Foliat and I am writing on behalf of my husband and myself to give this application our full support. The design of the two new houses will fit in with the whole village very sympathetically and be a big improvement on the house that exists on this site. We realise that more housing is always needed in the village and it is very nice to know that any new houses that are built will enhance our beautiful village of Chilton Foliat. We do hope that you will approve this planning application.

Yours faithfully,

Alan and Tara Elliot
