The extraordinary circumstances over the last few months have brought a historic increase in usage on WOSU’s digital platforms. WOSU’s online growth is largely due to building a larger following for our news coverage. News stories from July 2019 to June 2020 – which included reports on the impeachment trial, COVID-19 pandemic, protests over racial injustice and many other stories – contributed to 5.1 million unique users to wosu.org. A year over year increase of 2 million unique users over that time span. For the past three years, we have been building an audience for news on our website and, as these recent events unfolded, this audience as well as many more readers finding us through search engines and social media turned to WOSU for the latest developments. For the 2020 calendar year, we are more than 81% toward eclipsing last year’s total pageviews on our website. And we still have a presidential election to cover. Keeping You Informed We have refined our approach to help keep you informed on the latest news over the last six months. • Breaking news alerts are sent out through the WOSU Public Media mobile app. If you haven’t done so already, download our app and enable notifications to ensure you don’t miss a headline. • We are also using Instagram to tell stories on this visual medium through the lenses of our reporters and videographers. • We continue to livestream Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine’s coronavirus press conferences on 89.7 NPR News and the mobile app. Keeping You Entertained As the coronavirus kept everyone home over the past few months, usage of WOSU Passport has seen a big uptick. Passport is the members-only benefit that gives access to a video library with favorite PBS and WOSU shows available on-demand. And through it all, Classical 101 has remained your musical companion producing signature local shows, online Quarantine Classics and reporting about the effects of COVID-19 on the local arts and music scene. Continue to turn to WOSU Public Media on the radio, smart speaker, mobile app or website. However you prefer to access, WOSU will continue to provide the latest on the coronavirus, the 2020 election and more. 3 Primetime and Weekend Schedule for WOSU TV Saturday, August 1, 2020 9:30 pm Prime Suspect: Tennison on 5:00 pm Columbus on the Record Masterpiece 6:00 am Motorweek 5:30 pm PBS NewHour Weekend Jane is faced with several harsh realities in both 6:30 am Best of the Joy of Painting her professional and personal life. 6:00 pm Last Tango In Halifax 7:00 am It's Sew Easy 7:00 pm A Place to Call Home Sunday, August 2, 2020 Staring Down the Barrel 7:30 am Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting 6:00 am Firing Line with Margaret Hoover 8:00 pm Royal House of Windsor 8:00 am J Schwanke's Life In Bloom 6:30 am Gzero World with Ian Bremmer Shadow of a King • Prince Charles tries to avoid replicating Edward VIII's romantic mistakes. 8:30 am Family Plot: Gardening in the 7:00 am Consuelo Mack Wealthtrack Mid-South 9:00 pm Endeavour on Masterpiece 9:00 am Woodsmith Shop 7:30 am In Good Shape - The Health Show Season 6, Deguello • The collapse of a tower block reveals a clue that may uncover the truth 9:30 am American Woodshop 8:00 am Antiques Roadshow behind a haunting crime. 10:00 am This Old House 9:00 am Reconnecting Roots 10:30 pm Family of Us: A PBS American Portrait Story 9:30 am Broad & High 10:30 am Ask This Old House A moving and meaningful picture of families in 10:00 am Sara's Weeknight Meals America today and the way they shape our lives. 11:00 am Kitchen Queens: New Orleans 10:30 am Joanne Weir's Plates and Places 11:30 am Steven Raichlen's Project Smoke Monday, August 3, 2020 11:00 am Neven's Irish Food Trails 12:00 pm Lidia's Kitchen 7:30 pm Columbus Neighborhoods 11:30 am Growing A Greener World 12:30 pm Ciao Italia The Ohio State University Sesquicentennial • What did it mean to be a “land grant university” 12:00 pm NOVA 1:00 pm America's Test Kitchen 150 years ago—and what’s it mean today?
