Televisions & AV Equipment Instructions for Using the TV’s All of our television sets are capable of viewing cablevision channels as well as internet channels, such as NetFlix and YouTube. In addition, the living room TV can view some OTA (Over The Air) channels using the amplified antenna and play video games. Click <here> to see instructions for the New Apple TV. Living Room To turn on and view the TV: Press the POWER button on the cable box controller. This should turn on the cable box and the television. If the TV did not turn on, press the POWER button on the TV controller. Set the input to the correct source: Press <TV/VIDEO> using the TV remote to view OTA (TV), cablevision (Cable Box), the DVD Player (DVD), or the PlayStation (GAME). To watch TV from the cable box, the TV must be set to Channel 3. Use the cable box controller to adjust the volume and to set the cablevision channel. 1 | P a g e www.realtopia.ca You can watch 3D Blu-ray movies on this TV using the PlayStation3. We left some 3D movies for you to watch. We have also provided several compatible 3D glasses. Please clean the glasses and rearrange all accessories where you found them after use. You can watch NetFlix using the available apps on this SmartTV. Note: there are a few television stations on this TV can be viewed "over-the-air" (OTA). We have also provided access to NetFlix for you to enjoy a large number of movies and TV shows, as well as other fun programs that have been made available by LG (the manufacturer of the TV). Please let us know how you enjoy these features. To play video games, DVD movies (Blu-ray and 3D), or music CD’s, turn on the PlayStation Games Console and set the source on the TV controller to <GAME>. Insert the DVD, CD or game into the PlayStation tray. Use the games console remote (gamepad) to control games, DVD movies and CD’s when using the games console. Press X on the gamepad to start. To pause, press the square button; to stop, press the circle button. This Games Console uses wireless gamepads. Ensure that the gamepads are charged by plugging them into the games console using the supplied cables. To turn on the gamepad, press the <START> button on the gamepad. To play DVD movies using the DVD Player, turn on the DVD Player and set the source on the TV controller to <Video1>. Insert the DVD into the player tray. You may also use the stereo system to play music CD’s or to listen to the radio. Master Bedroom To turn on and view the TV: Press the POWER button on the TV controller. Set the input to the correct source (HDMI). To view NetFlix movies and other Apps: Press any button on the Apple TV remote to turn on the Apple TV. We have provided access to our NetFlix account for viewing movies and TV shows. NOTE: You should not have to change the input on the TV. The TV should already be set to HDMI input to receive signals from the Apple TV box. Den To turn on and view the TV: Press the POWER button on the TV remote. Press the POWER button on the cable box remote (if supplied). Ensure that the <INPUT> is set to <TV> to watch cablevision. 2 | P a g e www.realtopia.ca Ensure that the TV is set to Channel 3 (if using the cable box). Change channels or adjust the volume using the cable box remote. To view NetFlix movies and other Apps: If a Smart Box is provided, see the operating instructions for the respective Smart Box. The Smart Box will permit you to watch NetFlix movies and games on this TV. You can change the input using the TV remote to view cablevision (TV) or HDMI (NetFlix movies and shows). SPECIAL NOTE: You can change the INPUT to TV on any television that has cablevision to view the video cameras in the lobby. The video camera feed can be found on cablevision Channel 125 To Play a Movie DVD or Play a Game Press <INPUT> using the TV remote to view cablevision <TV>, to view movies on the DVD player <DVD>, or to play video games on the Games Console <GAME>. You can also access the smart tv functions to watch NetFlix and play other Apps. To return to TV mode, press < INPUT > on the TV remote, scroll to <TV> and press <ENTER>. To Play a Music CD You have the choice of playing music on the Stereo Receiver, the BoomBox or the Games Console in the living room. The Games Console can play music CD’s, DVD movies, and video games. NOTE: This unit does not have a CD player. Use the PlayStation games console to play music CD’s and DVD’s. To play the radio, use the receiver on the TV stand in the Living Room. You can also use the BoomBox to play your music on your iPod (or similar portable music player). A remote control and standard cable are included in the top of the BoomBox. NOTE 2: The electric keyboard (piano) may not be set up yet. Sorry for any inconvenience. 3 | P a g e www.realtopia.ca Remote Controls Daytek TV Controller: Use this controller to control Daytek 19” flat screen televisions. Note that some of our properties do NOT have a controller for the Daytek televisions in every room. You can operate these televisions manually. To operate the TV manually: 1. Press <POWER> on the right side of the TV to power the television on or off. 2. Press <INPUT> on the right side of the TV to set the correct video mode (input source). To operate the TV by remote control: 1. Press <POWER> on the TV Controller to turn on the television. 2. To watch cablevision channels, ensure that the <INPUT> button is set to <AV>. 3. To watch the games console: N/A. 4. To watch the DVD Player, ensure that the < INPUT > button is set to <AV2>. Not all bedrooms have DVD Players. Sony TV Controller: Use this controller to control the Sony television. To operate the TV: Press the POWER button on the TV remote. Press the large button on the APPLE TV remote. 3. You should not have to change the input on the TV. The TV should already. Note: there are no Cablevision channels in the bedroom TV. We have provided access to NetFlix for viewing movies. 4 | P a g e www.realtopia.ca LG TV Controller: Use this controller to control the LG television. To operate the TV: 1. Normally, you should only need to follow the instructions in this document to turn on the cable box. The remote control for the cable box is set up to control the power of the box and the TV at the same time. 2. If the cable box is on, but the television is not powered on, then press <TV>, then press <POWER> on the TV Controller to turn on the television. 3. To watch TV, ensure that the <INPUT> button is set to <TV>. 4. To watch the games console, ensure that the < INPUT > button is set to <GAME>. To watch the DVD Player, ensure that the < INPUT > button is set to <DVD> SHAW Cable Box Universal Controller: Use this controller to control the television and cablevision cable box. To turn ON or OFF the cable box and television: Press <CBL>, then press <MASTER POWER>. Note: If the television did not turn on with the cable box, press <TV>, then press <MASTER POWER>. To adjust the TV volume: Press <VOL> + or – To adjust the channel: Press <CH> + or – To view the TV guide: Press <GUIDE> Please do not change the TV and cable box settings. INTRODUCTION Cablevision of Monmouth, LLC (“Cablevision of Monmouth,” or the “Company”) submits the following comments in response to the November 16, 2015 request of the Office of Cable Television (“OCTV”). In that request, OCTV seeks comment on Cablevision of Monmouth’s performance under its existing system-wide franchise, and on how the Company intends to meet the future needs of the system’s communities should the Board of Public Utilities (“Board”) renew the franchise. As discussed in detail below, since converting its local franchises to the system-wide franchise, Cablevision of Monmouth has met and surpassed the cable-related needs of all of the communities served by the system-wide franchise, and will continue to do so by offering a broad range of innovative services to our customers and by continuing to fulfill our obligations within the statutory and regulatory framework of our system-wide authorization. II. INTRODUCTION In early 2006, Cablevision unveiled its plan to release a new Remote Digital Video Recorder System ("RS-DV-R").' This RS- DV-R system, provided by Cablevision to its current subscribers for an additional monthly fee, would enable these subscribers to down- load a "simple software upgrade" to add a recording function to their existing cable-boxes.2 This upgrade would permit users to record any live television program transmitted by Cablevision, and store a copy of that transmission on Cablevision's remote server.3 Because the copy is stored on Cablevision's remote server, the subscriber would not need to purchase any additional "Set-Top" box Digital Video Recorder equipment ("STS-DV-R") to make the recording,4 * Juris Doctor Candidate, May 2011, Touro College, Jacob D.
