Travelers Championship Announces 2014 Player Field CONTACT: Tara Gerber Travelers Championship 860-502-6815 [email protected] TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP ANNOUNCES 2014 PLAYER FIELD HARTFORD, Conn., June 13, 2014 - The Travelers Championship has announced its field today for the 2014 tournament which will be played from June 16 to 22 at TPC River Highlands. This year's tournament features one of the most competitive fields in recent memory. Four of the world's top 10 players in the Official World Golf Rankings will head to TPC River Highlands next week, including Bubba Watson (No. 3), Matt Kuchar (No. 5), Jason Day (No. 7) and Sergio Garcia (No. 8). The Travelers Championship announced that it has picked up commitments from top players including Harris English, Freddie Jacobson, Kevin Streelman, Vijay Singh, David Toms, Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano, Nick Watney, Charlie Hoffman, Bo Van Pelt, Camillo Villegas and Erik Compton. "This year's tournament field is one of the strongest we've ever had," said Travelers Championship Tournament Director Nathan Grube. "The player field, combined with the title extension announcement this past winter and all the special events that are planned throughout the week, will provide fans with an unforgettable experience. The most important part is that all the tournament funds generate benefit our charity partners throughout the region." Four remaining spots will be filled by Open Qualifying which will be held this Monday, June 16, at Black Hall Golf Club in Old Lyme, Conn. Scott Gutschewski is in a strong position to earn a return trip to the PGA TOUR as he grabbed a T2 finish to move from 27th to 18th.
