Jennifer Dykes, News Editor The easy-to-use and simple web form reduces complexity Matt Flagg, Online Editor and is a big convenience to students who don’t want to wait in long, poorly-organized lines. While memories of past permit registrations with five- hour lines in pouring rain are still festering, we can breath a sign of relief about being able to sign up for parking from the comfort of our homes. The web-based system isn’t the only new convenience of the system, billing directly through the Bursar’s office also reduces the hassle and makes payment easier. So there will be no problems about notification of dealines, the registration cycle is open for two months before permits are granted on the basis of class and renewal priority. With plenty of notice, students won’t be caught off-guard or forget to register. The long time frame will also help to work out the bugs in the system while still leaving plenty of time for registration. Another advantage exists for carpools, students can be lured with the incentive of a free or discounted permit and a reserved space, which makes even more sense to save money and reduce the smog that plagues Atlanta. Philosophy, poetry, romance, thought shouldn’t be cheesy The new system should be applauded for finally addressing the wants and needs of the Georgia Tech community with a Where is the wonder in the world?
