Itinerary for the day

10:30 Withypool Village (meet in Car park)

11:45

13:00 Lynmouth / Lynton

18:00 Weir (for sunset)

Suggested Directions from Chard to Withypool - 45 miles Approx. • From Chard, head to Taunton, then from Taunton, head on the road going towards Bishops Lydeard, past Bishops Lydeard, and continue on the A358 until the new roundabout at Tropicana. • Take the first left off the roundabout onto the B3190 towards Rayleighs Cross • Continue on the B3190 to the T junction at Rayleighs Cross, with the pub opposite the road - The Rayleighs Cross Inn. • Turn right at junction onto the B3190 signpost Wheddon Cross - 8 miles • Continue on the B3190, then fork left onto the B3224 signpost Wheddon Cross - Exford • Continue into Wheddon Cross • At Wheddon Cross, continue straight over crossroad junction signpost Exford - Dunkery Beacon B3224 • Continue into Exford, follow signs for 10miles, Withypool 2 1/2 miles • Bear sharp left just over the bridge - signpost Withypool 2 1/2 miles, Dulverton 10 miles • Continue following signs along the road to Withypool, turning left onto the B3223 at the top of the hill, • Turn right off the B3223 when the signpost states Withypool 1 mile, South Molton 12 1/2 miles at Comers Cross • Continue on the road into Withypool.. the car park over the bridge and over the opposite side from the old Petrol Station (now a cafe).

Suggested directions from Witrhypool to Landacre bridge - 5.2 miles • Turn right out of Withypool car park, then turn right at the T junction where the signpost states SANDYWAY 3 3/4 miles, past Hawthorn Bungalows • Continue on this road, until you reach a signpost on your right marked 'Withypool Cross', and take the sharp right turn heading to Landacre 1 3/4 miles, • Head down this road, down the valley until you reach Landacre bridge, their are two car parks, I suggest the Camera Club park at the one before the bridge and walk down to the bridge so that cars are not in the images,

Landacre Bridge to Lynton/Lynmouth - 15 miles • Go over Landacre bridge and head up the steep hill, • When you reach the top, the lane will open out to the main moorland, which will take you towards the B3223 (main road), keep heading straight down the lane, you shall past a Bridleway signpost to your right, • KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR EXMOOR PONYS, their are plenty of parking spots along the root and walk from/to to take photos if any are about!!! • Go through the cattle grid, keep going down the lane, • You will start going down the hill the other side, and continue along the road • Go through the small ford (and it is small not a river! - so don't worry!) and continue on the road back up to the T junction B3223 • At the T junction, turn left onto the B3223 and continue onto the crossroads • At the crossroads 'White Cross', turn left, signpost 4, Lynton 14 miles B3223 • Continue through Simonsbath and follow the signs now towards Lynton and Lynmouth • Head into Simonsbath, the Exmoor National Park car park is located as you just enter Simonsbath on the right, the facility has Toilets should people need facilities, • After, head out of Simonsbath and continue on the B3223 head towards 'Lynton and Lynmouth', • Turn right at Hillsford Bridge, towards Watersmeet on the A39, continue on into Lynmouth (if you turn right here, you head up to Lynton, and have to take the Funicular Railway down - a small charge up and down trip)

Suggested directions from Lynmouth to Porlock Weir - 10 miles • From Lynmouth, take the A39 Minehead road to Porlock • Just after entering Porlock, follow signs towards Porlock Weir B3225 and when you reach Porlock Weir, turn into the carpark at the beach,

TO get back home, head towards Minehead and follow the road back towards Taunton.
