If I had one wish on this first day of summer, it would be to relive one of the summer days of my childhood. It could be a summer day in 1975, when I was 10, and most of my days were spent playing baseball in the field down the street from my house. A hood from an old car served as the backstop behind home plate. Our bases were made of pieces of old wood, and years of running from home plate to first base, second base, third base then back to home had etched out a permanent Grand getaway diamond in the field. Roseheads are faithful members, you know. They travel through rain, hail, sleet or even snow.
