*PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU READ THIS THOROUGHLY!* NEW PUPPY INFORMATION & INSTRUCTIONS THE AMERICAN BULLY You have just purchased a new puppy from Into the Wilderness Great Danes & American Bullies. Your puppy needs to visit the vet within 72 business hours. When you take your puppy to the Vet, keep your puppy in a crate or in our lap. Do not let it play on the floor or furniture and most certainly do not allow it to socialize with other animals that may be in the office at the same time. In addition, it is not a good idea to let people touch your puppy when at the vet. It may seem mean to tell them not to, but they may be there with their dog that is sick. You do not want your puppy to catch what their puppy or dog may have. This is the time to establish an immunization schedule, take the Puppy’s health record with you. This is very important for your puppy’s protection. FEEDING YOUR PUPPY Your puppy is eating Purina Pro Plan Focus Chicken and Rice formula . Leave a bowl of water down 24 hours a day. New food should be mixed with the puppy’s food you received from us. This will prevent your puppy from getting sick. You need to watch and make sure your puppy is eating. Do not just assume he or she is eating. It may be necessary to add baby food (chicken or beef) for added flavor to encourage the puppy to eat better. You can soak the food in some chicken broth to make it soft, and they like that too. It also makes it easier for the tiny puppies to eat the softened food. You can also feed it some canned puppy food; NEVER confine a small puppy for any length of time with no food or water. Puppies also have to eat and drink during the night. Never withhold food from a very tiny puppy in an effort to teach it to eat its new food. This could kill your puppy. Making your puppy feel safe Remember when you first bring home your new puppy it will be scared. Our puppies stay with their moms and littermates until they leave for their new homes. When you bring your puppy home, he/she will be lonely and lost at first. It is not recommended to sleep with your puppy. This will ruin their house training or the puppy can be injured by falling off the bed or rolled on by its new owner. Just talk to the puppy and make him/her feel secure. Puppies have no concept of heights. They will walk right off the edge of any furniture if they are left unattended. So please warn children not to play with them on the sofa or the bed. Play with them on the floor for their own safety. Do not let them jump off of any high place such as couches, or beds, or other furniture. If your children hold the puppy, please make sure they are sitting down, puppies can be very wiggly. Also please be aware how tight your child is holding the puppy. Some children have injured small puppies by holding them too tight. Confinement is Essential to training We recommend using an x-pen, which can be bought, at any pet store. If you do not have the room for this then a puppy gate in the doorway to a bathroom will work almost as well. Make sure it is a puppy gate and not a baby gate. Puppy will eat through the baby gate. If the owner allows too much freedom, the puppy will get into bad habits of doing his thing in a well-hidden place. Do not allow this to happen. If you give him too much freedom at first you will end up with a dog that is not house broken. TRAINING YOUR PUPPY It is very essential that YOU become the pack leader of your puppy. Your puppy will be VERY large and could easily have their way with you once full grown. Establishing your position as pack leader at a young age is essential to having a well mannered adult. I suggest puppy training classes and lots of socialization. This beautiful breed was founded just a few decades ago by combining multiple Terrier and Bulldog breeds. This mixture created a breed with large noggins, muscular builds, broad chests, and wide-set legs. Basically, a canine version of that gym guy who always brags about how much he lifts (but much cuter). Though they have the term “bully” in their name, American Bullies are anything but! This name is not a result from the breed’s temperament, but rather from its origin. In fact, American Bullies are known to have kind, easy-going dispositions and make great family dogs! Also Known As… Bullypit. American Bully Pit. Pit Bull in most parts of the world. Furry Gargoyle. “The sloppiest kind of Pit Bull-type dog!” 1 Origins Though dogs have been man’s (and woman’s!) best friend for 300 centuries, the American Bully is a recent breed. The American Bully originated in the United States between 1980 and 1990 by an infusion of the American Staffordshire Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier, American Bulldog, Olde English Bulldog, and English Bulldog. On July 15, 2013, the United Kennel Club officially recognized the American Bully as a distinct breed. Contrary to what their stature or name implies, American Bullies are not purposed to be guard dogs or fighting dogs. The American Bully Kennel Club stated that this breed was “formed with the purpose of being the ultimate companion breed.” Looks like American Bullies have been doing an A+ job in fulfilling their destiny! Size American Bullies have compact, bulky, muscular bodies and big, blocky heads. They come in four recognized size variations: Standard, Pocket, Classic, and XL. Standard: 16-19 inches (female), 17-20 inches (male) tall Pocket: 13-16 inches (female), 14-17 inches (male) tall XL: 19-22 inches (female), 20-23 inches (male) tall Classic: lighter frame and less exaggerated features than the Standard, but same height range Weight Range Don’t let the height fool you, American Bullies pack a lot of weight into their compact stature! An individual dog’s weight depends on his or her height, stature, and physical condition. Typically, an American Bully’s weight falls within the range of 66-88 pounds. Personality Contrary to the “bully” moniker, American Bullies are loving and laid back lap dogs disguised in a bulky body. While they may not always get along with other dogs, they are loyal to their pack. This means that they are both affectionate towards and protective of their humans. Contrary to negative stereotypes, these friendly, gentle giants make great family dogs and love kids! Of the Bully breeds, American Bullies are one of the most tolerant towards other dogs. In fact, the American Bully was specifically created with the intent to hone in on sociable personality traits. The American Bully Kennel Club reported that, “Like with the American Staffordshire Terrier, all the positive characteristics of the breed’s ancestry were kept like loyalty, stability with humans and other physical attributes; but traits of dog aggression and gameness were bred out of the breed because the breed had no future and purpose for those traits.”American Bully Kennel Club. Intelligence/Trainability American Bullies were bred to be very trainable and intelligent. And, like many pups, American Bullies are eager to please! Because of this, they are typically very obedient and willing to be trained. So, if you’re looking for a furry Einstein who will bend-over-backwards for you, look no further! Because of their people-pleasing personalities, American Bullies are quite trainable! They are also very intelligent and are capable of learning a great amount of tricks and commands. An American Bully will do anything for a treat. So, rewards-based training methods are very effective with this breed – especially when treats are involved! Though American Bullies are not particularly aggressive, there is still the possibility for any breed (especially those in the Bully breed group) to be triggered by certain animals or situations. Training and socialization can help keep American Bullies calm and collected in potential confrontations. Ideal Environment An American Bully’s ideal home would be a house with a yard and a loving family! If you don’t have a yard – don’t fret! American Bullies can receive sufficient exercise by playing indoors or going on daily walks. These pups also need a home that provides them mental stimulation. So, stock up on toys and games for your American Bully to play with while you’re away! This intelligent breed can have destructive tendencies when bored, but this can be combatted with sufficient play and exercise. Furthermore, American Bullies may need a home in which there are no existing small pets and no existing dogs. This breed is loving and social with humans, but does not always get along with other animals. However, American Bullies can live happy and 2 harmoniously with pets they were raised with! So, feel free to raise your American Bully puppy with another puppy if they have bonded well! American Bullies are a great choice for family pets! They’re loyal, loving, playful, and snuggly – what more could you want? American Bullies are fond of children and will love your kids like her own! Health On average, American Bullies have a lifespan of 8 to 13 years. At this point, no health studies have been conducted on this breed.

    BREEDERS CUP ASSOCIATION 2018 EXOTIC BULLY BREED STANDARD FOREWORD The Exotic Bully has been around since approximately 2013 as a “breed” recognized by the USBR, the first Exotic Bullies were American Bullies that were exclusive to a few bloodlines that concentrated on the more “bulldoggy” looking traits and were beyond the “standar d” set up for the American Bully within other r egistries. The Exotic Bullies were cast out by those registries for not being American Bullies and not fitting their standards. During this time period there were other breeds that were brought into the Exotic Bullies that were not readily sp oken about in the breed’s history which consists of American Bulldog, English Bulldog, Olde English Bulldog, and French Bulldog just to name a few that were added by certain bloodlines to enhance the look the breeders were trying to achieve above and beyond the original breed. Over the last few years the Exotic Bully is beginning to get a “desired” look that is becoming more consistent and this breed standard will serve as a standard for which they will be graded by with the goal of bringing more even consistency to the breed. We also recognize that the Exotic Bully is a continuing breed that still to this day has various looks defined by bloodline. This breed standard is to serve the breed in protecting its health as well as not preventing breeders from following their v ision to create their version of the breed. This breed standard will be revisited in a few years for revision if necessary.

    Bully Pedex Kennel Club Breed Standards FRENCH BULLDOG GENERAL APPEARANCE The French Bulldog has the appearance of an active, intelligent, muscular dog of heavy bone, smooth coat, compactly built, and of medium or small structure. Expression alert, curious, and interested. Head Large and square. Flews thick and broad, hanging over the lower jaw at the sides, meeting the underlip in front and covering the teeth, which are not seen when the mouth is closed. The underjaw is deep, square, broad, undershot and well turned up. Eyes All colors accepted, wide apart, set low down in the skull, as far from the ears as possible, round in form, of moderate size, neither sunken nor bulging. No haw and no white of the eye showing when looking forward. Ears Known as the bat ear, broad at the base, elongated, with round top, set high on the head but not too close together, and carried erect with the orifice to the front. The leather of the ear fine and soft. Not having bat ears is a disqualification. The top of the skull flat between the ears; the forehead is not flat but slightly rounded. Muzzle Broad, deep and well laid back; the muscles of the cheeks well developed. The stop well defined, causing a hollow groove between the eyes with heavy wrinkles forming a soft roll over the extremely short nose; nostrils broad with a well-defined line between them.     ~YOF CITY CLERK'S DEPARTMENT VANCOUVER Information, Admi nist ration and Election Services File No. 04-1000-20-2016-351 October 26, 201 6 Re: Request for Access to Records under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (the "Act") I am writing in response to your request of September 15, 2016 under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, (the Act), for: The following records as of August 31, 2016: 1) Number of dogs registered as dangerous/ vicious/ aggressive in the city of Vancouver; 2) The breed of each dog registered as such; 3) The number of repeat owners on the list (has an owner had more than one dog registered on the list - if so, how many). All responsive records the City is able to provide are at tached. This data has been compiled by reviewing each dog license file and manually recording the dog breed for files where the dog was flagged as aggressive. The search encompassed all dogs residing in Vancouver in 2016 which are currently licensed or tagged as requiring renewal. Please note: Animal Control is not able to compile a report on dog owners who have had more than one aggressive dog registered to t hem historically. The current animal control database has efficiency and data reporting limitations, it is gradually being phased out. Please refer to the letter sent to you on October 21, 201 6 for further det ai l.
