After this weekend’s home series against Arizona State, Friday-Sunday, the only Utah baseball game to be played at Smith’s Ballpark will be the May 12 matchup with Utah Valley.

The move became necessary because of the primary tenancy of the Salt Lake Bees at Smith’s Ballpark, and the difficulty in scheduling games at optimal times on the same day due to new COVID-19 protocols introduced for Minor League Baseball organizations. The customary turnaround time between a Utah baseball game and a Salt Lake Bees game has increased to allow for proper cleaning and sanitizing of facilities, making it more difficult to play two games in one day after the Bees begin their 2021 home season on May 6.
