Child Nutrition Services Manager Consulting Position Qualifications: 1. Foodservice experience required 2. Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Food , Nutrition or Culinary Arts or other related field preferred 3. Enjoys working with people. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with parents, school administrators, staff and public/private agencies 4. Access to reliable transportation during working hours, travel is required 5. Highly organized and detail oriented 6. Experience with Microsoft Office required 7. Ability to work independently

Objective: To assist the Child Nutrition cooperative purchasing group in reaching group goals by ensuring compliance with federal and state guidelines through administration, planning, training, implementation, and evaluation.

Performance Responsibilities 1. Assists the Purchasing Coordinator in planning, bidding, and/or facilitating purchasing opportunities for the member districts 2. Assists Purchasing Coordinator in facilitating bids, RFP’s, Direct to Manufacturer bid, for member districts as needed 3. Develops purchasing procedures and ensures purchased food and supplies reflect specifications from bid or RFP, conforms and complies to state, federal and district policies, and nutritional objectives 4. Coordinates, facilitates, attends and leads Cooperative meetings, broker meetings, and product testings. Responsible for documentation, evaluation and tabulations for meetings and communicating information as needed 5. Coordinates communications between cooperative members and vendors 6. Assists Purchasing Coordinator in creating and maintaining procedures to insure bid integrity 7. Promotes/Educates for purchasing cooperative to attract new membership 8. Assures that members are participating according to the CIESC Child Nutrition Bids Guidelines/Agreement 9. Assists in maintaining the cooperative website as a tool for vendors and members 10. Provides education and training for school food service personnel, school administrators and other school support staff as related to the Child Nutrition cooperative purchasing procedures 11. Encourages and assists in the development of short and long term goals through strategic planning for the cooperative purchasing program 12. Audits vendor pricing monthly 13. Annually compiles Child Nutrition labels and manufacturer statements 14. Annually compiles Smart Snack statements, using the approved calculator for all a la carte products 15. Speaks effectively before groups of customers or employees of an 16. Adheres to CIESC Code of Ethics to maintain no conflict of interest 17. Performs and directs with an overall nature that is committed to the goals and visions of the Child Nutrition cooperative purchasing group 18. Completes other duties and tasks as assigned by the Executive Director and Child Nutrition cooperative purchasing group 19. Reports to and is evaluated by the Executive Director and the Child Nutrition cooperative purchasing group
