State Senator Chris Larson Announces Campaign for County Executive Acknowledges calls to serve with commitment to bring more collaborative, responsive leadership to County Executive office; Highlights disappointment in learning Chris Abele “not who we thought he was.”

Greenfield— Speaking in front of his childhood home, State Senator Chris Larson today announced his candidacy for Milwaukee County Executive. Flanked by Congresswoman Gwen Moore (DWI), former State Representative Sandy Pasch, and his family, Larson said:

“As a County Supervisor, as a State Senator, and as Senate Leader, I have dedicated my entire career to improving the lives of the neighbors I serve. I have been asked to serve my neighbors by running for a new office and that is why today, I am announcing that I am running for the office of Milwaukee County Executive and, with your help, we will win and take the office back for the middle class.”

“Over these past four years, we have seen the needs of the powerful trump the needs of our citizens. We have seen the power of our elected representatives be stripped and consolidated into the powers of one man. We have seen coordination by the elite class seeking to dismantle the institutions that we cherish, like public . We have grown disappointed to learn that Chris Abele is not who we thought he was.”

“I'm running for County Executive because we need to restore power to the people. It is clear that Milwaukee County is heading in the wrong direction and, over the next six months, I will lay out exactly why I think we can do better.”

As County Executive, Chris Larson will: ● Collaborate: Chris Larson and each of his department heads will do proactive outreach with leaders and experts around Milwaukee County. ● Listen to the People: Chris Larson will hold a listening session in each Milwaukee County municipality every year. ● Strengthen Our Parks: Chris Larson will restore our parks to their national reputation and work with communities & friends groups to develop a path to making sure everyone in our county has access to a world class park ● Restore labor peace to Milwaukee County: Labor, both private and public, are our neighbors and partners in building for a better future. Chris Larson will end divide and conquer at the county. ● Focus On Education: I will lobby to end the MPS takeover and work instead to get our kids and our schools the resources they need. ● Provide Wrap Around Services: Kids in poverty will have access to support and services. Leave education to educators and service to those that provide service.

Larson was born and raised in Milwaukee County and graduated from Thomas Moore High School. He attended the University of Milwaukee where he graduated with a degree in Finance and a minor in Political Science. Chris currently lives in the Bay View neighborhood of Milwaukee with his wife Jessica and two children, Atticus and Stella.
