Question: Q: App Store not showing High Sierra, can't select “Show All Software Updates” either. years ago, I chose not to update (Yosemite?) by option-click on the download link in the App Store, then choosing to hide that update. But App Store continued to also hide Sierra and High Sierra. Now, I take that I just should select “Show All Software Updates” in the 'Store' section of App Store - but that line is not there . Any idea to reset this? I tried already the trick to get to the Debug menue and removing the Cache and resetting - did not help. Even some more elaborate things (deleting Cache folders and entries in /var/. like here: https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/245406/how-to-fix-reset-app- store-app- on-mac-osx-el-capitan). Dec 1, 2017 3:23 PM. Dec 1, 2017 4:42 PM. What I mean: I want back the normal behavior that App Store shows all available Updates. Now I get everything (?) but the new OS's. More precise: I have a MBP late-2011. It fulfills the requirements for Sierra / High Sierra, but I don't get these OS's shown in the offered Updates list, which normally is the case (of course, only one of them) (At least here even a non-supported MB late-2008 Aluminum on El Capitan got shown Sierra, now High Sierra). I believe this 'misbehavior' started when I 'hide'ed Yosemite when being on Mavericks. Later I updated to El Capitan but that system I transferred on a USB-stick from the MB to the MBP. And then always migrated my user account. And writing the sentence before I realized I should look into App Store from another user account: Switched to another Standard-User, opened App Store --- and there it is, I am offered High Sierra. Thus, I can get High Sierra the normal way (would have been possible via selecting 'Featured" too) - but I have no idea why App Store works so strange on my normal (administrative, every-day) user account. Dec 1, 2017 11:13 PM. This is how it looks. No indication that there is a newer OS. Since Sierra and currently missing High Sierra. Dec 1, 2017 11:18 PM. Full macOS's are never listed in the Updates section of the App Store, you download them via the Featured page in the App Store, you will find High Sierra. Once you have downloaded and installed High Sierra then updates for that OS will be shown in the Updates page when they become available. If you download and install High Sierra you will get version 10.13.1 which is the latest. 10.13.2 should be available soon as it has been under beta testing for a while now, so that will appear in the Updates section when it is released. Question: Q: I can't download High sierra from the App Store. My mac book pro has Mojave installed. But I want to make downgrade to high Sierra. Because mojave doesn't run the programs I need to run. When you go to the app store and click on "Download", the system checks for mac os updates and offers me to download Catlina instead of High Sierra. You may need to make a bootable installer for High Sierra. You can access Disk Utility from it to erase the drive, then install the OS. Jan 11, 2020 5:19 AM. that's exactly what I'm doing. I want to create a High Sierra splash disk. But for that, I have to download it from the app store. Instead of High Sierra, the app store offers me an upgrade to Catalina. Jan 11, 2020 5:23 AM. You have to search for old OSes from the Support site, not the App Store. Only the current OS is offered in the App Store. Jan 11, 2020 5:27 AM. You don't seem to understand me. You give me a link to a page with a link to High Sierra. When I open this link, the App Store automatically starts with a High Sierra page. If I click on the Download button, I am prompted to upgrade to Catalina. Jan 11, 2020 5:33 AM. FWIW, that's not what happens here. For one thing the "button" is labeled "Get", not "Download". Then it asks if your sure you want to download High Sierra. You can try this… Close the App Store. Run this command in the terminal and try the link again. Jan 11, 2020 6:39 AM. You don't seem to understand that is the only way to get High Sierra. I don't know why it is not providing the Download option as dialabrain shows. You allude to your Mac having run High Sierra before, is that true or did it ship with Mojave? You can't install an OS below the one that shipped with your Mac.* Jan 11, 2020 10:44 AM. This advice is no longer correct. It used to work. But it doesn't now. All of Apple's old installers were rendered non-functional because their certificate expired. If you visit the link on the Apple Support site that you just posted, it in turn gives you a link to the App Store, yes—but that link does not work anymore. If you click on the "Get" button, the App Store then informs you that the file is no longer available. This has been broken for a couple months now for all older OSes and Apple needs to fix it ASAP.
