SCORING RECORD The Texans set a new school record for margin-of-victory in the 66-3 win over SWOSU on Sept. 26. The previous mark of 62 points was in a 62-0 decision over Southwestern Assemblies of God on Aug. 29, 2002. The 66 points was the second largest total scored by the Texans since Tarleton became a four-year university.

HE’S GOT A LEG... Garrett Lindholm’s game-winning, 55-yard kick set a new Tarleton record for longest field goal. Lindholm had made a 44-yard field goal to put Tarleton’s first points on the board in the first half before nailing a 36-yard boot to tie the game at 28 with 12 seconds remaining in the contest. The senior then kicked a high pooch kick, and following a MSU fumble on the return, the kicker nailed the winner against the wind as time expired.

IT’S GOOD... AND LONG The 55-yard kick is the longest by an LSC kicker since 1982 and is the third longest field goal of the year in NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision, Division I Championship Subdivision, Division II and Division III. Only kickers from Purdue (Carson Wiggs - 59 yards) and Wisconsin (Philip Welch - 57 yards) have booted balls further this year.

TYING RECORDS Tarleton’s Roderick Smith tied the school record for points in a game and touchdowns in a game in the win over Arkansas-Monticello on Thursday, Aug. 27. Smith tied all of them in points scored in a game as well with 24 points. Devin Guinn tied Will Moody (2000-03) in career receiving touchdowns with 20 after pulling down two scores against Central Oklahoma.
