The Eastern Shore Higher Education Center, located on the Wye Mills Campus, offers upper-division courses towards bachelor’s and graduate degrees. The mission of the Center is to promote higher education and economic development in the region by offering a range of postsecondary programs and services in its state-of-the-art facility. Registration is conducted by each credit-granting institution. Please contact Salisbury University, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), Stevenson University, University of Maryland University College (UMUC), La Salle / RTC, ECPI University or Notre Dame of Maryland University to complete the application and registration process. Students must have an Associate of Arts degree and/or meet program entrance requirements in order to qualify for bachelor’s degree programs. There must be sufficient enrollment in each class in order for the institution to offer the courses listed. The schedules listed on the home university or college website will be official. The Eastern Shore Higher Education Center is also available as a professional development center for local education, non-profit, business and government agencies. The Center is the ideal location for regional meetings, complete with high speed wifi, free parking and onsite catering services. Classrooms are available for small meetings and seminars. A computer lab accommodates technology training needs for up to 20 participants. A large amphitheatre is available and can be set up in theatre-style or workshop-style seating. Teacher Certification Courses which lead to an Masters of Arts in Teaching

Plans are underway to begin this program for career changers who hold a minimum of a Bachelors Degree and wish to pursue Maryland Teacher Certification. Due to Corvid 19 we are not able to hold information sessions at this time to recruit potential participants. A brief description follows.

This is a summer intensive program offered by Bowie State University. Up to five courses will be offered each summer. Each course is for one week Monday through Friday. The courses are at the graduate level and may be applied to the Masters of Arts in Teaching. Direct Billing is being established with local school systems.
