The Council collects recycling from the kerbside fortnightly green wheelie bins and green plastic boxes, while rubbish for landfill is collected weekly in black plastic bags. The Council does not currently run a garden waste or food waste collection service, but it is possible to have bulky waste items collected by arrangement (see further below). ALL refuse and recycling for collection by the Council crews must be outside and ready by 6am on the designated collection day. To ascertain when your collections take place search for your address on the Stroud District Council website.

Bulky waste items collection If you have unwanted bulky items, such as furniture, electrical white goods and soft furnishings that are still usable, you may be able to donate them to a local charity or to other people through an online community. Alternatively you can use the Council's bulky items service which is free for Stroud residents. The free service does not cover household fixtures and fittings, building waste or DIY waste. This sort of waste will be collected but a fee is payable: one item will be removed at a time for a fee of £22. To arrange either a free or chargeable bulky waste collection telephone 01453 754 424 or book online. You will be asked for a list of the items to be collected, their location on the property and the preferred time and date for their removal.
