Carlson did damage early and often, starting the bottom of the 1st with his first solo home run of the night. A two-run blast by Arkansas 3B Mike Ahmed in the 2nd tilted the 2-1 lead to the Travs, before the Cardinals responded with a two-run double from SS Rayder Ascanio in the 4th for a 3-2 advantage. Arkansas tied it in the 7th with a solo shot from CF Dom Thompson-Williams, knotting the game at 3-3. With two on and two down in the 8th, Lopez launched a go-ahead three-run bomb to left field, followed immediately by Carlson’s second solo homer of the night, and the Cardinals went on to win, 7-3. Final sprint… By battling out the series split with consecutive wins the last two days against 1st-place Arkansas, the Cardinals remain alive in the battle for the 2nd Half North Division Championship with 21 games remaining. Springfield enters action on Monday just 5.0 games behind the 1st- place Travs, who the Cardinals will host three more times at Hammons Field this Friday – Sunday. The Cardinals trail 2nd-place Tulsa by just 4.0 games, with this four-game set at ONEOK Field representing the final meetings of the season between the two clubs. Leading the league… With his second two-home run game of the season (and of his career) on Sunday, CF Dylan Carlson has continued to extend his lead among the league’s top home run hitters. The 20 year old sits on top of the circuit with a career-high 21 round-trippers, a season-high four homers above the 2nd-best total of 17 by Naturals INF Gabriel Cancel and Hooks OF Ronnie Dawson. Carlson also leads the league in runs (81), extra-base hits (51), slugging percentage (.526) and total bases (216), while ranking among league leaders in 13 total categories. On an even larger scale, Carlson leads all of Double-A in runs, slugging pct., and total bases, while ranking 2nd in homers and 2nd in extra-base hits. Late night Lopez… 2B Irving Lopez has excelled in late/close situations this season, batting .406 (13x32) with a team-high three home runs and nine RBIs, along with a double, two triples and six runs in those scenarios. The 24 year old connected on a pair of walk-off home runs in the first home series of the season, and drilled the game-winning blast with his three-run home run in the 8th yesterday. Late/close stats are tracked when the game is in the 7th inning or later with the score within three runs. Clean living… The Cardinals have committed just five miscues in their last 21 games and strung together nine straight games without an error from 7/20-7/29. Springfield has been one of the top fielding teams in the league all season and is currently tied for 1st with Arkansas for the top fielding percentage in the circuit at .985. This transcript was exported on Mar 15, 2021 - view latest version here. Intro: This is Michael Cowen, and welcome to Trial Lawyer Nation. You've got to have the right case because if you take it up, and it's the wrong case, then you can make some really bad law that's going to affect a lot of plaintiffs- There's always an answer. The joy is in finding it- One of the reasons that I love being a lawyer is this exact process- The way we live our life has nothing to do with the presentation sequence at trial- As trial lawyers we pick up and move on and keep going- You're losing or gaining one out of every 10 jurors, which can really make a huge difference in the ultimate result of the case- Whatever you think about, you create- Learn all you can, and never stop. Then, have the guts to try case after case after case- Welcome to the award winning podcast, Trial Lawyer Nation, your source to win bigger verdicts, get more cases, and manage your law firm. Now, here's your host, noteworthy author, sought after speaker, and renown trial lawyer, Michael Cowen. Michael Cowen: Today on Trial Lawyer Nation, we have a great lawyer from Houston, Texas, Randy Sorrels. Randy, how are you doing today? Randy Sorrels: I'm doing terrific. Terrific. How about you? Michael Cowen: I'm going wonderful. Glad to be alive, and actually right now I'm glad to be vaccinated, which is a cool thing. I can start looking forward to having life again.

Not only was Dedeaux the main architect for the success of the USC baseball program, but also one of the great ambassadors for college baseball and amateur baseball in international competition. In his 45-year tenure at USC (1942-86), Dedeaux led the Trojans to 11 national championships and 28 conference titles. He posted an overall record of 1,332-571-11 for a superb .699 winning percentage. At his retirement, he had won more games than any other college baseball coach (he currently ranks seventh among Division I coaches). His teams from 1970-74 won fi ve straight NCAA championships, a record that may never be broken. No other school has won more than two in a row. Two personal honors for Dedeaux, which are quite fi tting considering his accomplishments, came in 1999 when he was named “Coach of the Century” by both Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball. As part of the 50th anniversary of the College World Series in 1996, Dedeaux was named the head coach of the All-Time CWS team by a panel of former World Series coaches, media and college baseball offi cials. In 1999, he was presented with keys to the city of Omaha (home to the College World Series). Dedeaux was named Coach of the Year six times by the American Baseball Coaches Association and was inducted into the organization’s Hall of Fame in 1970.
