As our staff help these families meet their immediate needs, we also address problems from a long-term perspective to help prevent their reoccurence in the future. For example, hundreds of families last year attended financial management seminars after having visited our food pantries, learning how to budget for the unexpected and stretch their dollars. In these ways, those that seek our care learn how to overcome such challenges as poverty, poor living conditions and homelessness, unemployment, and limited education. A few things you should know: • We are the largest Catholic Charities in the country with • It costs $556,000 to run our programs each day. 158 programs at 174 locations in Cook and Lake counties. • Every 30 seconds someone counts on Catholic Charities • 92 cents of every dollar we raise goes directly to help people for help. in need. Without you, we could not serve the community’s needs or show others in need that self-sufficiency is a reachable goal. Thank you!
