There are good views from the top of the hill across the Somerset Levels and out across the Bristol Channel. To become a member visit www.ramblers.org.uk Starts at Bleadon Village Car Park Ends at Bleadon Village Car Park Getting there Bleadon lies to the right just off the main A370 running between Junction 22 of the M5 and Weston-Super- Mare. The village car park is just before the church on the left. Buses run regularly between Burnham-on- Sea and Weston-Super-Mare. Some travel direct along the A370 whilst others travel via Brean and join the A370 to the north of the village. If travelling by bus you will need to alight on the main A370 close to the village and then walk to the start. Refreshments are available at the village pub which is on the left just past the first right turn on the walk. There is also a large family pub (The Hungry Horse) at the junction with the A370 to the north of the village. Route instructions [1] Turn left out of car park and follow road uphill passing church on the right. Turn first right and follow road through village. After passing last house on left turn left onto a footpath. Follow the path into field and at gate pass through it and bear slightly to the right and proceed uphill. As you proceed uphill you will see a further gate ahead with an old lorry on its other side being used as a stable. Pass through gate and continue uphill to point where a footpath joins diagonally from right. Turn right onto this path and after crossing stile proceed up hill skirting house on left to reach stile crossing into Roman Road [2] Turn right and follow Roman Road. At point where road bears left and goes downhill go straight ahead onto path. The path goes straight ahead and then bears slightly right to go up hill and reach a bridleway. Turn left onto bridleway and proceed for approx. 100yds. To point where bridleway bears left. At this point continue straight ahead onto path. Follow path alongside hedge to reach a stile leading into a field. Cross stile into field and proceed across to reach gate on far side which pass through and proceed downhill. As path descends it turns into a minor road by a large house. Follow road to reach a T-junction at bottom. [3] Cross road to stile which is slightly to right. Cross stile and follow alongside fence of large property on left to reach another stile crossing into a field. After crossing stile path goes straight ahead over a number of fields to finally reach South Hill Farm. Walk through farm and turn right uphill through gate and then pass through a further gate to reach another field. Path contours round field and then heads towards Bleadon Church. Exit field over a stile in top left hand corner and then follow path running between houses to the church. Turn left out of churchyard onto road and return to starting point on the right.
