DISCUSSION: From last two decade state government is promoting rural tourism for rural development in this regard the development as basic infrastructure is one of the major reasons for the development of rural tourism. It is observed that was positive co relation between rural tourism and rural development. From last two decade central government of India has taken initiative to promote rural tourism development in our country during 11th five year plan guidelines were given to all state government to promote rural tourism in their state government by Maharashtra has who announced Rural Tourism Policy in 2006. Table No. 1 shows the tahsils wise number of Pilgrimage destinations. Malshiras tahsil is having highest 21 religious tourist destination and Akkalkot; North Solapur tahsils have two religion tourist destinations. Total fund allotted for this 66 destinations are 3049.67 Lakh and average fund is 281.78 lakh.
