After wowing audiences across the globe PK all set to wow Chinese audiences in over 3500 screens! Mumbai 30th January 2015: The biggest Indian blockbuster, PK, is geared up for a release in China across a record 3500+ screens, yet another first for any Indian film till date. Since its release on 19th December 2014, the movie has gone on to shatter records and set new benchmarks. The film is the highest grossing Indian movie globally. With PK, for the first time, The China Film Group and Huaxia Film Group have acquired a film from India directly for its release in The People's Republic Of China. The historic signing ceremony held in Beijing on Jan 27th, in the presence of the Honourable Ambassador of India to The People's Republic Of China - Mr. Ashok Kantha and Honourable Mr. Tong Gang, Vice Minister, State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the People’s Republic of China (SAPPRFT), the heads of China Film Group and Huaxia film group; director Rajkumar Hirani, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, UTV Motion Pictures and other dignitaries. "This direct collaboration with China Film Group and Huaxia Film Group for PK is a proud moment not just for us at the studio but also for the Indian movie industry as a whole. We were honoured to have senior diplomats and government officials from both countries for the signing. Earlier, Disney released its first live action Hindi feature Do Dooni Chaar in 2010 and subsequently after the success of the film, released Anaganaga-O-Dheerudu, a Telugu feature targeted at the southern audiences and second Hindi live-action film Zokkomon.
