Page 3 of 17 Be part of your community Canberra is a caring and social community. At this time of COVID-19, it is important that we • look after each other • look after ourselves. In every suburb of Canberra, you can find social groups and community activities you can be part of. Now is a good time to join in. Community Councils Your local Community Council • is run by local people • has lots of information about community and social groups in your area. Page 7 of 17 Things to see and do outside Go on a Teddy Bear Hunt! Across the world, people have put teddy bears in their windows for people to look for. Suburbs all over Canberra have joined the fun. You can find teddy bears in many interesting places. Go for a walk and look for teddy bears. You can • take a book to read • put books in that you do not need any more. Canberra has more than 100 street libraries. Positive post-its is a street art idea that started in Canberra at the beginning of COVID-19. People post messages of hope, love and joy around community areas.
