CV ALEXANDRA KORONAIOU

Alexandra Koronaiou is Professor of at Panteion University of , Department of , where she teaches Sociology of Work and Leisure and Media Sociology. Moreover, she teaches an introductory course on Adult Education in the Greek Open University’s Postgraduate Programme. Her research interests include sociology of work and free time; education; media impact on youth; youth studies; young people’s radicalisation; and gender issues. She has been a member of the Scientific Committee of the Observatory on Gender Equality in Education and of KETHI (Research Centre for Women’s Equality), scientific collaborator in the Research Institute of Modern Societies, French National Centre for Scientific

Research (IRESCO/CNRS) and an expert in the COST ACTION A 34 Gender and Well Being: Interactions between Work, Family and Public Policies.

She has extensive experience of international project management and research and she has been the scientific responsible of various EU FP7 and HORIZON 2020 research projects: 1) MYPLACE (Memory, Youth, Political Legacy and Civic Engagement, FP7, 2011-2015, http://www.fp7-myplace.eu/); 2) MYWEB (Measuring Youth Well-Being, FP7, 2014-2016, http://fp7-myweb.eu/); 3) INNOSI (Innovative

On a national level she has directed and conducted extensive research on the sociology of work and health, free time and leisure, education and lifelong learning, gender roles and the media impact on youth, including: 2002-2008: Member of KETHI’s Scientific Board for the project “Raising Awareness for Gender Issues Among Teachers’ Trainers and Educators”. 2006-2007: Scientific Director of KETHI’s research project “The Role of Fathers in Balancing Professional and Family Life” (FP5: “Equal Partners. Re-examining Men’s Role in Work and Private Life”), 2005: i) Research study on “Occupational Stress in Greek Health Professionals working in Public and Private Hospitals”, Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, ii) Research on “Unemployed women: Psychosocial Consequences” a case study of Palco conducted at the Department of Psychology, Panteion University of
