AETNA now offers MinuteClinic with no copays to DVHT members

While not currently available in Delaware, AETNA is now offering a new benefit to health plans through the Delaware Valley Health Trust – Kent County’s Health Program Administrator.

Plan participants traveling out-of-state can access certain services available at a CVS MinuteClinic outside of Delaware.

Effective February 1, 2020, all CVS MinuteClinic copays will be waived for Delaware Valley Health Trust enrollees and their covered dependents (deductible will still apply if part of the plan design). CVS provide a wide-range of health and wellness services (see attached list) through the use of a widespread network of local CVS . Please note this new benefit does not apply to non-CVS walk-in clinics (For example Ride Aid RediClinic and Walgreens Healthcare Clinic).

AETNA has provided the following clarification on the CVS MinuteClinic services which are excluded from the “No Copay” program.

MinuteClinic services excluded from the No Copay program.

The member may receive a separate bill for non-covered services, or services provided by an external (non-MinuteClinic) vendor. For example, some of the services for which member may receive a bill include:

• Cost of medication administered at visit (unless the medication is available at the MinuteClinic, for example vitamin B12 injection). • Cost of prescription medication filled at pharmacy. If MinuteClinic provider writes a script, retail pharmacy cost share will apply when member fills the script. • Administrative physicals (e.g., employment-related screening, camp physical, sports physical or Department of Transportation physical). Member would be responsible for the full charged amount. • Any visit outside the scope of MinuteClinic services (e.g., referral to specialized provider or emergency services, not addressable at MinuteClinic). For example, if member visits ER as suggested by MinuteClinic provider, ER copay will apply. • Video visits are not covered. While video visits are available, they are not covered by the plan.
