Lee DeWyze Writes New Song to Celebrate His Wedding Last Saturday, American Idol Lee DeWyze married model and actress Jonna Walsh. The ceremony was held in Held in Camarillo, Calif., where the couple said their ‘I do’s’ in front of 100 guests. DeWyze told People that, “It was really our style of wedding, outdoors with chandeliers.” What really made the ceremony so intimate and special was the song DeWyze wrote for his bride, that played when she walked down the aisle. It was called “Who Would Have Known,” and will be appearing on his next album. How did he know Walsh was the one? “When I realized I could be 100 percent myself around her all of the time I knew I wanted to be with her for the rest of my life,” DeWyze says. These newlyweds will be honeymooning in Bali while DeWyze is on tour. What can you create to make your wedding more special? Cupid’s Advice: Not all of us are musically gifted, but being a little creative still helps to make your special day more memorable for you and your new spouse. Here are some ideas that are sure to make your wedding unforgettable: 1. Choreograph a dance with your friends: Creating a silly and fun dance will keep your guests entertained and your new partner smiling. Consider choreographing the dance to a song that has a special meaning to you and your partner in order to make it more enjoyable and significant. 2. Vows: This may seem obvious, but not everyone can find the right words when it comes to expressing emotion. Still, if you try to write your own vows, your wedding will feel more intimate and special. Try talking about personal memories and looking into your love’s eyes while sharing how you feel. 3. A collection of your memories: Before the wedding, spend some time putting together a little gift to give to your partner either during the ceremony or at the reception. Collect some of the pictures you’ve taken together and any memorabilia you have as a couple and put together a creative little binder or box of memories. Lee DeWyze Biography FRAMES Lee DeWyze formally launches the pivotal next stage of what is already a high-profile musical career with his Vanguard Records debut – Frames. The 27-year-old DeWyze seriously considered calling the album “Silver Lining,” after the hook-laden song because that phrase succinctly sums up where he’s been and where he’s headed. “This past year, I hunkered down and wrote an album,” the Chicago native explains. “I wanted to take it back to what I’m really about, which is writing emotionally charged, meaningful songs. It wasn’t like I wanted to find a label and then decide what kind of album to make. I knew what kind of album I wanted to make and knew I could make. It’s going back to the kind of music I’ve always loved. I grew up listening to Cat Stevens, Simon & Garfunkel—folk-based acoustic music. Don’t get me wrong—my experience on the show was great. But for someone like me and the kind of music I make, that only takes you so far. It feels really good to get back to the grass roots of what I’m about. The way I see it, everything that’s happened throughout my career has happened so that I can make this record.” The show DeWyze is referring to is American Idol, which he won in 2010.
