Don Latarski To Perform Christmas Concert for Adoptive Families

(Eugene, Ore.)—Popular Eugene guitarist and Holt adoptive parent Don Latarski will be performing Christmas music for adoptive families and guests December 8, 2002, at Gerlinger Lounge at the University of from 2–4 p.m.

In what Holt hopes to become a holiday tradition, Don Latarski and friends such as Mason Williams, Marilyn Keller, and others will perform for about two hours with a focus on Christmas, adoption, and family.

Originally from the Detroit, Michigan area, Latarski has been in Oregon since 1973. Since this time, he has developed a style of music that draws heavily on the blues and traditions: forming a style uniquely American. He has written numerous books on the subject of playing and his recordings have become synonymous with blues and jazz.

Latarski’s son, Spencer, who is adopted from Korea, will perform with his dad.

Opportunities for media include pictures of adopted children with parents and great visuals of band perform- ing. Latarski and others will be available to the media.

Holt International’s mission is to find a home for every child, first by trying to reunite the child with his or her birth family and then by looking for adoptive families both in the child’s birth country and in the United States.
