Beyond just the need for securement, it is important to consider the big picture when it comes to securing mobility passengers. Transit managers are specifying the Q’POD because it is helping them: Drastically lower securement times by up to 50% or improper use Keep buses on proper route schedules due to reduced dwell times Avoid invasions of their mobility passenger’s personal “space” Increase the ratio of riders requesting securement (when optional) Reduce driver frustration as well as their risk Designed by Q’Straint. of personal injury Available thru 4One. Other Q’POD Compliance with ADA Requirements So transit operators can meet Federal requirements Stabilizing Bumper Makes it almost impossible to tip a chair or scooter and eliminates the need for a 4th securement point making securement faster and keeping routes on schedule Front Tensioner Drivers can use a single hand in a simple bending motion when attaching or releasing for less intrusion on the rider’s space while assuring maximum stability Scooter Ring Eliminates the need for a fourth belt or quick strap and makes scooter reducing legal and medical costs Integrated Shoulder Belt installation by eliminating the need for wall or window bar retractor attachments For more information, visit: Qstraint.com/Qpod 676418_QStraint.indd 1 1/24/14 8:50 PM ASSOCI Message from the President A TION I NFORM A TION Dear members and friends of TTA, It is with great pleasure and responsibility that I have accepted the position as President of the Texas Transit Association . As many of you know, I occupied this position once before, from 2008 through 2010 . I am honored by the support of the Board and the opportunity to continue serving the Texas Transit Association . As I look forward to this exciting journey, I see many great opportunities and a positive future for the TTA . I believe TTA is a collaborative voice for public transportation throughout the state . I am hopeful that we can set aside any differences and work together for the common good of public transportation . Individually it can be difficult to be heard, but as a group our industry will have a much stronger voice . Even though many of us are faced with issues within our agency, we must stick together as we work through our challenges statewide . All of us have to be part of the conversation and part of the solution . We need one voice for public transportation in Texas, and the Texas Transit Association is that voice . As we move together to enhance public transportation statewide, we must remain responsible to taxpayers as we address our passengers needs . We must develop public and legislative support for public transportation statewide . Through increased collaboration we will be able to develop partnerships with other organizations, garner support and move our industry forward . Transit needs everyone to be part of the same goal in attracting choice riders . I ask you to take a step back and look at your involvement with TTA, and I challenge you to make a stronger commitment . Again, I encourage you to join this effort and become the voice of public transportation throughout Texas . John L.
