EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT NDRRMC • Disseminated series of NDRRMC Advisories on Severe Weather Bulletins , Flood Bulletins for River Basin and Allied Rivers , General Flood Advisories , and Gale Warnings , to all Chairpersons RDRRMC, PDRRMC, and OCD Regional Centers through SMS and facsimile • Uploaded the same at the NDRRMC Website, Facebook, and Twitter accounts for further dissemination to their respective Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (LDRRMCs) from the provincial down to the municipal levels • Conducted an emergency meeting on 27 July 2011 attended by the member agencies to assess the extent of agencies’ preparedness and responses relative to TS “Juaning” wherein DOST-PAGASA presented the situationer on TS “Juaning” (chronology, forecast position and track) and the member agencies presented their preparedness and responses • Directed RDRRMCs concerned through the OCD Regional Centers to undertake precautionary measures in their respective areas of responsibility (AOR) and subsequently advised local DRRMCs to initiate pre-emptive evacuation of families in low-lying and mountainous areas if situation warrants • Provided PhP410,000.00 worth of financial assistance to the bereaved families of the dead victims in Bicol Region at Php10,000.00 each dead victim RELIEF AND RECOVERY OPERATIONS FOOD AND NON-FOOD ITEMS Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 6 • DSWD-DROMIC closely coordinated with DSWD-Field Offices (FOs) concerned for updates on ongoing intervention/response ; transported one (1) truckload of relief supplies worth PhP 1,314,893.37 consisting of 3,500 family food packs, 2,000 pcs. blankets, 2,000 pcs. plastic mats from the DSWD-NROC on July 28 - 29, 2011 to Bicol Region as additional standby relief resources of DSWD FO V; pre-positioned PhP45.57M in all DSWD-FOs along the typhoon path – PhP1.31M standby funds and PhP44.26M worth of relief supplies, to wit: Field Standby Relief Supplies Total Office Funds NCR 504,598.04 1,215,944.75 1,720,542.79 I 268,817.15 5,147,753.61 5,416,570.76 II 86,517.05 5,935,968.85 6,022,503.90 IV -A 186,60 5.50 13,525,840.32 13,712,445.82 V 88,372.81 17,887,918.89 17,976,291.70 X 176,123.45 553,604.40 729,727.85 TOTAL 1,311,034.00 44,267,048.82 45,578,082.82 • DSWD-FOs are still closely coordinating with local DRRMCs concerned from the regional down to the local level to continuously update the number of affected/evacuated population and the extent of assistance provided to the victims of the typhoon • DSWD I pre-positioned 1,000 family packs to the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur and Pangasinan, activated QUART to monitor adverse effects brought about by TS “Juaning” and implemented cash-for-work program in flood-prone areas (canal/river de-clogging) as flood mitigation activity; 227 families / 1,135 persons from La Union and Pangasinan returned home after a brief stay at the three (3) evacuation centers; PhP 26,290 worth of relief assistance was provided by the local government of Umingan, Pangasinan and Bangar, La Union to their constituents • DSWD II pre-positioned food and non-food items at the 65 evacuation centers in the region and stockpiled sufficient amount of food packs and used clothing for augmentation to the affected LGUs. SWAD teams of Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino started their duty since 26 July to monitor possible effects of TS Juaning; provided relief assistance to 418 families/2,027 persons; opened three (3) new ECs for 41 families/264 persons; and provided assistance worth PhP 411,408 to victims and strandees in coordination with concerned LGUs • DSWD IV-A continuously monitors the five (5) provinces in the region for the number of municipalities/cities affected; stockpile of supplies are lodged at the SWAD Offices of 5 provinces for immediate provision of relief assistance to the affected families; SWAD Team and concerned LGUs are closely validating the number of affected and served after only 750 from the 1,500 food packs requested by Cong.
