Page 48 Page 49 The Musings of a Cruiser

The tranquility of the sea during a cruise can bring out the poet in any of us. Brian Cherry found this to be the case and the prose flowed from his pen as he recalled the fond memories of the Bass Strait cruise. Inspired by the style of the famous Australian poet C.J. Dennis, these musings were put to paper and read at a cruising function by our own Brian Cherry of Lena.

Cruising Malaise Bloody waves and bloody swell, At bloody Port Fairy, Jib is flapping, what the Hell. We’re sitting on’t bloody mud, Bloody preventer’s bloody jammed, But bloody Crays are bloody good, Bloody main has slam, slam, slammed.
