New Year's Eve The Girl Scout Leadership Experience Girl Scout program outcomes are measured through annual surveys administered in late spring. The survey questions have been professionally developed and tested by Girl Scouts of the USA. We are pleased to share the results from members of the Gulfcoast Florida Council, which illustrate how Girl Scouts perform better than their non-Girl Scout peers in the following five areas:

have confidence in themselves and their abilities, and form Sense of Self 81% positive identities (non-Girl Scouts, nationwide: 68%).

Positive Values act ethically, honestly, and responsibly, and show concern for 77% others (non-Girl Scouts, nationwide: 59%).

Challenge Seeking take appropriate risks, try things even if they might fail, and 58% learn from mistakes (non-Girl Scouts, nationwide: 42%).

Healthy develop and maintain healthy relationships by communicating their feelings directly and resolving conflicts constructively Relationships 55% (non-Girl Scouts, nationwide: 43%).

Community desire to contribute to the world in purposeful and meaningful ways, learn how to identify problems in the community, and create Problem Solving 51% "action plans" to solve them (non-Girl Scouts, nationwide: 28%).

Local survey conducted in April 2017, with a voluntary sample consisting of 9.8% of all troop members council-wide. National results are from the online survey conducted by the research firm Decision Analyst in 2016-2017, with a nationally representative sample. An individual girl is considered to possess the characteristics related to an outcome if she has a mean score equal or greater to 4.0 on a 5-point scale for the set of questions related to the outcome. Strength of Sisterhood Whether you are a new Girl Scout Daisy, a seasoned Girl Scout volunteer, or a proud Girl Scout Alumna, you are part of something bigger than yourself. You are part of a vast sisterhood, extending beyond your troop, service unit, and council, to the largest girl-serving organization in the world. You are part of a 100+ year tradition, sharing a bond with more than 2.6 million Girl Scouts across the United States, and 10 million Girl Scouts worldwide in 146 countries. You are part of an American institution.
