This strictly limited, 18- week engagement, now in rehearsals, will begin performances on Friday, February 23, 2018, with an official opening on Sunday, March 25, 2018. A quarter-century after stunning the theater world, one of the greatest theatrical journeys of our time returns to Broadway in an acclaimed new production from the National Theatre. As politically incendiary as any play in the American canon, Angels in America also manages to be, at turns, hilariously irreverent and heartbreakingly humane. It is also astonishingly relevant, speaking every bit as urgently to our anxious times as it did when it first premiered.     Photojournalism For this section, we'll be looking at photojournalism's impact on shaping people's opinions of the news & world events. Photojournalism From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Photojournalism is a particular form of journalism (the collecting, editing, and presenting of news material for publication or broadcast) that employs images in order to tell a news story. It is now usually understood to refer only to still images, but in some cases the term also refers to video used in broadcast journalism. Photojournalism is distinguished from other close branches of photography (e.g., documentary photography, social documentary photography, street photography or celebrity photography) by complying with a rigid ethical framework which demands that the work be both honest and impartial whilst telling the story in strictly journalistic terms. Photojournalists create pictures that contribute to the news media, and help communities connect with one other. Photojournalists must be well informed and knowledgeable about events happening right outside their door. They deliver news in a creative format that is not only informative, but also entertaining. Timeliness The images have meaning in the context of a recently published record of events. Objectivity The situation implied by the images is a fair and accurate representation of the events they depict in both content and tone. Narrative The images combine with other news elements to make facts relatable to audiences. Like a writer, a photojournalist is a reporter, but he or she must often make decisions instantly and carry photographic equipment, often while exposed to significant obstacles (e.g., physical danger, weather, crowds, physical access).

    DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR OCEAN ENERGY SAFETY ADVISORY COMMITTEE NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA JULY 13-14, 2011 MEETING MINUTES The Ocean Energy Safety Advisory Committee (OESC) held its second public meeting on July 13-14, 2011, at the Astor Crowne Plaza Hotel, 739 Canal Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70130. The meeting agenda (Appendix I) focused on industry, state, academia and Federal initiatives and outreach relevant to the work of the Committee; new technology; and OESC subcommittees’ progress to date. Thirteen of the fifteen Committee members were in attendance (Appendix II). The two Committee members who were not present during the meeting represented the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Academia) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA - Federal government). In accordance with the provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act, Public Law 92-463, the meeting was open to the public from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on July 13 and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on July 14. Approximately 50 members of the public and press were in attendance (Appendix III). The meeting was called to order by Designated Federal Officer (DFO) Brad J. Blythe after establishing quorum. He then introduced OESC Chairman Thomas O. Hunter to lead meeting proceedings. Wednesday, July 13, 2011 The first day of the meeting consisted of presentations on industry initiatives by the Marine Well Containment Company (MWCC) and DeepStar, as well as a presentation by Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEMRE) on the Well Containment Screening Tool. BOEMRE Director Michael R. Bromwich offered a few remarks (Appendix IV) of encouragement to the OESC and its subcommittees on their progress to date and future efforts.

This spectacular new staging of Part One of Angels in America, Millennium Approaches, and of Part Two, Perestroika, had its world premiere earlier this year in a sold-out run at the National Theatre, where it became the fastest selling show in the organization’s history. This strictly limited, 18-week engagement will begin performances at The Neil Simon Theatre on Friday, February 23, 2018, with an official opening on Wednesday, March 21. Starring two-time Tony Award® winner Nathan Lane and Academy Award® and Tony Award nominee Andrew Garfield, the cast of Angels in America will feature fellow original National Theatre cast members Susan Brown, Denise Gough, Amanda Lawrence, James McArdle, and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett.

LONG SYNOPSIS In a Jewish Orthodox Synagogue in Hendon, the frail RAV KRUSHKA (Anton Lesser) collapses whilst giving a sermon. As funeral rites commence in London, the Rabbi’s exiled daughter RONIT KHRUSKA (Rachel Weisz) is living her life as a photographer in Manhattan. During a photo shoot she is told by the Brooklyn Synagogue of her father’s death; wounded by the news and in a vulnerable state, she gets drunk in a local bar and sleeps with an undetermined man.
