D ata f rom seco ndary so urces, e. g., US Census 2000; American C ommunity Survey, 2007; C ounty B usiness P atterns; Economic C ensus 2002 and 2007; Current Population S urvey; Statistical A bstract of t he United S tates 2007; Bureau of L abor Statistics; Bureau of Economic Analysis; and so on have been used as well. This doc ument i s also one of t he r equirements t o r eceive f unding f rom t he E conomic Development Administration of the U. S. Department of Commerce. The Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy of the Navajo Nation provides various data related to the Navajo economy, government, health, education and demography. It is used as one of the major sources of information on the Navajo Nation, by a substantial number of people and public and private organizations within and outside of the Navajo Nation such as Navajo Government agencies, schools, for-profit and non- profit organizations use this document to apply for grants.
