  • Usai Ditinggal Messi, Barca Daftarkan Pemain Barunya Di Laliga

12 Wednesday, March 21, 2018 SPORTS CHINA DAILY HONG KONG EDITION Time to show FIFA a red card t’s bad enough that soccer is already the only major sport that produces “highlight” reels showing what almost Ihappened during 90 minutes of nonaction. Now FIFA, in its infinite wisdom, has ordained that video assistant referee technology (VAR) will be used at this summer’s World Cup finals in Russia, further stultifying a game that’s desperately in need of more pace. FIFA president Gianni Infantino sugarcoated last week’s announce ment in Zurich, saying all the right things about building “a more transparent and fairer sport” and giving the living, breathing game officials “much needed help” — but it was a hollow endorsement. The landmark decision to use VAR Murray at the World Cup Greig came two weeks aft er FIFA’s rules panel voted to write video technology into the laws of soccer, and Infanti no has pledged improved commu nication with officials and fans to make the system work. 226 SUMMARY OF ACTIVITY 2019/20 AND OBJECTIVES 2020/21 227 SUMMARY OF ACTIVITY SUMMARY OF ACTIVITY 2019/20 Outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic • The 2019/20 season will be marked by the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has unfortunately affected and continues to affect millions of people around the world. As for the impact on our club, the pandemic led to the implementation of the state of alarm on 14 March 2020, which consequently led to the stoppage of all professional sports competitions, as well as the total closure of the Club's facilities. During the month of June 2020, the Club was able to partially reopen its facilities, complying with all the established protection and hygiene measures; and on 11 June 2020, the La Liga competition recommenced. • However, the Club has suffered financially from the consequences of these measures, as the matches being resumed had to be played behind closed doors, while the influx of visitors to the facilities, as well as the sale of Club products, have also been affected by the reduc- tion and limitations on international tourism. Additionally, the Euroleague Basketball competition has been cancelled, and this has also generated an associated loss of revenue for this reason. • It is with this in mind that we include below in the Club’s management report an estimate of the main financial impacts that the global 228 Covid-19 pandemic has had on the Club (in thousands of euros) and which has been sent to the Spanish National Sports Council (Consejo Superior de Deportes, CSD): Figures as at Estimated

© ProFootballD.
