Germany's #1 Limp Bizkit Tribute Act -GERMANY’S #1 LIMP BIZKIT TRIBUTE ACT- Info: Von AC/DC über Metallica bis zu ZZ Top... zu fast jeder Kultband gibt es auch die passende Band, die ihre Vorbilder in Form von Tribute-Shows ehrt. Im Fall von Pimp Blitzkid sind diese Vorbilder niemand geringeres als die amerikanischen Superstars Limp Bizkit! Die 5 Musiker aus Kirnsonville (Limp Bizkit Fans verstehen den Sinn dieser Abwandlung vom Ortsnamen "Kirn“) haben sich im Juli 2013 als Tribute-Band formiert und covern seither die Band um Frontmann Fred Durst in allen Aspekten. Damit ist sie die erste und derzeit einzige Ihrer Art in Deutschland. Songs aller Alben, der seit mittlerweile 20-Jahren bestehenden Erfolgsband, befinden sich im Pimp Blitzkid-Repertoire und werden in einer Live-Show mit allen typischen Elementen des "Limp Bizkit Style" und viel Liebe zum Detail dargeboten. Auch ist man in der großen Eventhalle bestens für solche hochkarätigen Acts gerüstet. Am Ende waren nicht nur die Musiker völlig erschöpft, auch das Publikum brauchte eine Verschnaufpause. Das galt am Ende der Nacht wohl auch für die Organisatoren. Die Spannung war groß unter den Zuschauern. Immerhin galt es die Frage zu beantworten, ob es möglich ist, einer Band wie Limp Bizkit um den exzentrischen Frontmann Fred Durst standesgemäß Tribut zu zollen. Die Antwort vorab: Pimp Blitzkid schafften es. Von Beginn an rockten die Jungs mit ihrem Mix aus Metal und Hip Hop die Antoniushalle in Grund und Boden, Pimp Blitzkid kommen auch optisch ihren Vorbildern aus Jacksonville sehr nahe. Vor Allem Gitarrist “Flüm” zog mit seinem Outfit viele Blicke auf sich.     OJAI AT BERKELEY VIJAY IYER, MusIC DIRECTOR The four programs presented in Berkeley this month mark the seventh year of artistic partnership between the Ojai Music Festival and Cal Performances and represent the combined efforts of two great arts organizations committed to innovative and adventur- ous programming. The New York Times observes, “There’s prob- ably no frame wide enough to encompass the creative output of the pianist Vijay Iyer.” Iyer has released 20 albums covering remarkably diverse terrain, most recently for the ECM label. The latest include A Cosmic Rhythm with Each Stroke (2016), a collaboration with Iyer’s “hero, friend, and teacher,” Wadada Leo smith; Break Stuff (2015), featuring the Vijay Iyer Trio; Mutations (2014), featuring Iyer’s music for piano, string quartet, and electronics; and RADHE RADHE: Rites of Holi (2014), the score to a film by Prashant Bhargava, performed with the renowned International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE).
