4.2 Online Registration ● The online registration form will be open until 1 October 2018. Late registration may not be accepted. If successful, applicants will be charged an administrative fee of HKD500 in addition to the registration fee. ● There is likely to be difficulties accessing the online registration form in Google-restricted areas such as China. In this case, please send an email to [email protected]. You will be asked to fill in a PDF registration form and email it back to us. Please only request this form if you are unable to access the online form. ● You will receive an auto-generated confirmation email shortly after submitting the registration form. If you have not, please check your spam mailbox and contact us to check if we have received your response before submitting another. ● You will receive an registration number in the confirmation email. Please make sure to quote this number when making enquiries. ● Please ensure that all information you provided during registration is accurate. ● You will receive a PayPal invoice of the registration fee within 5 working days after submitting the registration form. If you have not received the invoice within this period, please contact us quoting your registration number. ● You are required to settle the invoice by 3 October 2018. Late payment of registration fee will automatically result in rejection of your registration. ● After the invoice is paid, you will receive a receipt from PayPal. You DO NOT have to check with us whether we have received your registration fee or not. At this point, registration is completed and your entry is confirmed. ● There is NO REFUND for registration fees for ANY reason. If you encounter any injury that prevents you from participating in the competition and a relevant medical certificate is presented, your registration fee for this competition will be held under your name for 1 year until the next competition in 2019.
4.4 Receipt of Entry Information ● By 13 October 2018 you will receive an email with your Entry Information which details your entry number, schedule, instructions on music submission, ticketing information etc. Entry Information may be sent out in batches that some of you may receive this information earlier than others. Please only contact us only if you have not heard from us after 13 October 2018. ● Please make sure to quote your entry number in your enquiries.

4.5 Music
4.5.1 Ballet Solo ● You DO NOT have to submit your own music. ● On 13 October 2018, you will receive an Entry Information document which also grants you access to a database which includes different versions of music of all variations from Classical Variation List. ● You will have to declare your variation and track to be used during 13-18 October 2018. Late declaration or any changes made after 18 October 2018 will result in an administrative charge of HKD500. ● Instructions will be announced in the Entry Information document on 13 October 2018.
4.5.2 Contemporary Solo, Duo/Trio and Ensemble ● You will have to submit your own music online during 13-18 October 2018. Late submission or any changes made after 18 October 2018 will result in an administrative charge of HKD500. ● Instructions will be announced in the Entry Information document on 13 October 2018.

5. Scoring
5.1 Computation ● If the number of judges in a round is 3 or below, final scores are computed as an average of all scores. ● If the number of judges in a round is 4 or above, final scores are computed as average of scores after eliminating the highest and lowest scores.
5.2 Entry into the Final Round Note: This section is applicable only to Junior A, Junior B and Senior divisions of Ballet Solo. ● Entry into the Final Round is based on ranking in the Preliminary Round. ● Star of Canaan Dance International Ballet Competition (SCDIBC) Committee has the final decision on the number of competitors to enter the Final Round. Such decisions are undisclosed until announcement of finalists are made. ● After each round of Preliminary Competition, entry numbers of Finalists will be announced on the same day by signages at the competition venue, on the Website, Facebook page, Instagram. Please refrain from getting in touch with the Committee in person or through other channels to ensure fairness and confidentiality.
5.3 Ranking ● Rankings are computed based on average scores (please refer to Section 5.1 for the computation). ● SCDIBC Committee might make changes to the ranking under certain circumstances. For example, there may not be a Gold medalist if the adjudication panel agrees that he/she is not up to standard. In the event that 2 average scores are very similar, there might be 2 competitors in the same rank and none in the rank after. ● The Committee reserves the right to make final decisions on the ranking.

5.4 Appeal ● Should you have any questions or concerns about the scores, please send a formal enquiry to [email protected]. Please refrain from getting in touch with the Committee in person or through other channels to ensure fairness and confidentiality. ● Once an appeal is received, the Committee will check for computational errors. ● The Competition is of a fair nature, and solely based on merit; thus the result of all competitions will be based on the final decisions of the adjudication panel, in which SCDIBC Commitee h as full trust and will not question.

Appendix 2: Frequently Asked Questions 1. How can I register for the competition? You will have to first fill in an online registration form to be found on our website from 1 September until 1 October. Then, your entry is only confirmed after you pay the registration fee.
2. Is there any practice before the competition? You are recommended to attend Star of Canaan Dance International Ballet Competition 2018 Malaysia Workshop from 14-16 December 2018. It is a 3-day course of intensive and comprehensive dance training and coaching taught by our judges and guest teachers. For more information, please refer to o ur webpage.
3. How can I register for the workshop? You will have to fill in a separate o nline registration form.
4. Can I skip the workshop? The workshop is not compulsory for competitors, but you are strongly recommended to attend the workshop to get prepared for the upcoming competition and do your best on stage.
5. I have a problem accessing the online registration form. What should I do? Please email us at [email protected] to request a PDF registration form, fill it in and email back to us.
6. I did not receive a confirmation email after submitting my registration. What should I do? Please check your spam folder. If you still cannot find the confirmation email, please contact us to check if we have received your registration before submitting another response.
7. Is my registration number my entry number? No, the registration number and entry number are different. The registration number is for you to quote when making enquiries before receiving your entry number on 13 October 2018.
8. I found that I submitted some information wrongly during registration. What should I do? Contact us as soon as possible quoting your registration number.

9. I have submitted the registration form and received a confirmation email, but have not received a PayPal invoice. What should I do? It takes a maximum of 5 working days to receive the invoice. If you still have not received an invoice after this period, contact us quoting your registration number provided in the confirmation email.
10. How can I pay the registration fee? You can make make online payment by debit card or credit card through the PayPal invoice. In the event that you are unable to pay through PayPal, you may pay by bank transfer. Please contact us for details and make sure to send us the receipt.
11. I don’t know how to use PayPal. Do I need a PayPal account to make payment? No, you not need a PayPal account to make payment. Please refer to the instructions below:
12. I have made payment on PayPal. Have you received my registration fee? If you have received a receipt from PayPal, it means that we have received your registration fee. You do not need to check with us. If we did not receive your registration fee, we will send out a reminder email near the payment deadline.
13. Now that I have completed registration (submitted the registration form and paid the registration fee), what should I do? Please await our email with Entry Information by 13 October 2018.
14. When will I know my entry number and the competition schedule? You will receive an email from us with Entry Information detailing both items by 13 October 2018.

15. My friends have received their Entry Information and I have not. Why is that? Entry Information emails are sent out in batches. Please contact us, quoting your registration number, only if you still have not received the Entry Information after 13 October 2018.
16. When can I submit music? You may submit music during 13-18 October 2018.
17. How can I submit music? If you are a competitor of Ballet Solo, you will not have to submit your own music. You will only have to declare which track to use in your competition.
If you are a competitor of Contemporary Solo, Duo/Trio or Ensemble, you will be asked to submit your music online.
More instructions will be announced on 13 October 2018 along with the Entry Information.
18. How can I purchase tickets and passes? The types, price and purchase method will be announced on 13 October 2018 along with the Entry Information.
19. How many competitors are there in my division? To ensure fairness and confidentiality, the number of competitors in each division will not be disclosed before the competition begins.
20. How many competitors will enter the Final Round? The number of competitors to enter the Final Round will remain undisclosed until announcement of List of Finalists is made.
21. Did I enter the Final Round? Please pay attention to the signages at the competition venue, on the Website, Facebook page, Instagram on the same day of the Preliminary competitions. List of Finalists will not be disclosed to individuals earlier than the public announcements.
