B. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR SENIOR COLLEGE PROGRAM (e.g., minimum GPA, audition/portfolio):

ƒ Minimum GPA of 2.0 ƒ Associate Degree graduates of Bronx Community College are exempt from all lower-division Lehman College General Education Degree Requirements. ƒ To earn the Bachelor's Degree at Lehman, Bronx Community College graduates need to complete the courses required for the major / minor, two upper-division interdisciplinary courses, one writing intensive course, and elective courses if needed. ƒ Lehman College students at the Department of Biological Sciences are required to complete 70 credits of coursework. The general requirement for those students transferring to the department is to complete half of the credits (or 35 credits) in the Biology major at Lehman College. This stipulation is a reduction by one credit from the general requirement

The Department of Biological Sciences at Lehman College is dedicated to ƒ providing potential biologists a solid background based on the substantial new information comprising modern biology, bioinformatics, and the interface between biology and mathematics. ƒ meeting the needs of students with different career goals and scientific interests.

The Department of Biological Sciences offers undergraduate students the opportunity to earn the Bachelor of Arts degree in: ƒ Major in Biology, for students interested in preparing for a career in biology related areas, and further studies in graduate schools, medical schools and other professional schools.

Associate in Science Degree from Bronx Community College.

Bronx Community College graduates with the Associate Degree in Science will receive 60 credits toward the Bachelor of Art in Biology at Lehman College. In addition, they will be deemed to have met all general education requirements at Lehman College.
