Sheila E Leader Of The Band (Feat. After taking The Glamorous Life to the top of the charts, Prince and Sheila E. had a second hit with A Love Bizarre. The seductive A Love Bizarre became one of st Sheila . s best-known tracks and one of the most memorable songs to emerge from the army of Prince protégés. Released as a single in November 1985 and peaking on the charts in late-winter 1986 (around the same time that Prince was beginning to grease the promotional wheels for Parade), the tune narrowly missed the Top 10 on Billboard’s pop chart, landing at No. 11, and it became the highest-charting R&B single of Sheila’s career, landing. The title track was a Grammy-nominated Top 10 smash, the album went gold, and Sheila found herself taking her timbales and tambourines on the road with Prince, serving as a support act during 1984-1985’s Purple Rain trek. Prince met Sheila E. at a concert in 1978, when she was performing with her father. After the show he met her and told her that he and his bassist Andre Cymone "were just fighting about which one of us would be the first to be your husband. The album's second single "A Love Bizarre" became her signature song, peaking at number 11 the Hot 100 and also topped the dance charts. The non-album track "Holly Rock" made its way to live shows and into the film Krush Groove. Says Sheila . "Ringo truly is one of the greatest rock n' roll drummers in the history of music. He enjoys the joke!" In 2002, Sheila E. appeared on the Beyoncé song "Work It Out". The song was Sheila . s last major hit and her second biggest behind her debut single 'The Glamorous Life'. The song was performed in the film Krush Groove which Sheila E. also had a major supporting role in. The song was a major hit and reached in Urban radio airplay & Dance/Club play, on the . R&B charts and on the Billboard Hot 100 & Pop radio airplay. The German 12' single release is backed by the B-Side 'Save The People' that also served as the B-Side for her previous single 'Sister Fate'. A Love Bizarre" is a song written by Prince and Sheila E. for Sheila . .The song is a duet between Sheila E. and Prince and it appears on Sheila . s 1985 album Romance 1600. It clocks in at 12:16, but the single version is 3:46 in duration. The song was Sheila . s last major hit and her second biggest behind her debut single "The Glamorous Life". The moon up above, it shines down upon our skin Whispering words that scream of outrageous sin We all want the stuff that's found in our wildest dreams It gets kinda rough in the back of our limousine. CHORUS: That's what we are, we all want a love bizarre That's what we are, we all want a love bizarre. A strawberry mind, a body that's built 4 2 A kiss on the spine, we do things we never do Come swallow the pride and joy of the ivory tower We'll dance on the roof, make love on a bed of flowers.

The master percussionist’s music seamlessly flows between Latin jazz, salsa, funk and R&B styles. This incredible ensemble features Juan and Peter Michael Escovedo along with a mix of musicians from both Los Angeles and the Bay Area. After several decades, Pete Escovedo has become an internationally recognized percussionist, nominated for two Grammy Awards and hailed as a percussion master. He is recognized by some of the greatest artists of our time and has had the opportunity to collaborate and share the stage with musical stars like Prince, Herbie Hancock, The Temptations and Stevie Wonder. Sheila E. was born into a rich heritage of Latin music in Oakland, California. She picked up drumsticks and started making music at the precocious age of three while watching her father, legendary percussionist Pete Escovedo, rehearse for his gigs with Tito Puente and Carlos Santana. She and her two younger brothers and sister grew up in a close-knit artistic family where it wasn’t uncommon for the top musicians of the day to jam in their small apartment until the early morning hours. And if they often struggled to make ends meet, they were rich in love and family unity. She began her career in the mid-1970s as a percussionist and singer for The George Duke Band. After leaving the group in 1983, Sheila began a successful solo career, starting with her critically acclaimed debut album, which included the career-defining song, “The Glamorous Life”.
