In 2007 Shepherd center Ryan Pope was named the winner of the Division II Rimington Award as the nation’s top center in his division. Pope, a four-year starter on the offensive line for the Rams, helped lead the Rams to four straight WVIAC titles and three consecutive NCAA II postseason appearances. He is believed to be the first Shep- herd athlete to win a national individual award. Deante Steele set a new NCAA II career mark for kick return touchdowns with his 11th in Shepherd’s come-from-behind win over West Liberty in 2010. Honors & Awards
