"DNA": The Sixth Form Play This year the sixth form chose to perform this modern play by Dennis Kelly which uses comedy to address some tragic themes. From the casting stage to performance, the sixth formers were responsible for the entire production which was put together in their own time. Both audiences were thoroughly entertained and left in no doubt that a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing. Also not in question were the admirable leadership qualities and drama skills of those involved who upheld our tradition of the sixth form presenting a challenging play as of their many extra-curricular activities. We congratulate: Jair Beckles, Hugh Cornish, Gemma Earle, Becca Littlechild, Gaby Marsh, Aila Nakazato, Liz Pascoe, Jo Smith, Ryan Strong, Charlotte Thomas, Katie Thomas, Kate Welby, Freya Wilson and this year's Directors, Zoe Pollard and Isabel Tennant. DRAMA IN THE COMMUNITY We congratulate our year thirteen 'A' level Theatre Studies students who devised their own pieces on the environment to perform by invitation to local first schools. All the schools were impressed with the quality of the pieces and the students' acting abilities as well as their rapport with the young children. Well done to: Jair Beckles, Jessica Cowper, Gemma Earle, Gaby Marsh, Aila Nakazato, Zoe Pollard and Jo Smith.

Megan Hey and Daniel Pank in year ten successfully auditioned for the Nomads' production of "Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood" and so are appearing in this year's pantomime in Newmarket. Very well done to both Megan and Daniel. THE 2010 WORK EXPERIENCE PROGRAMME The whole of year eleven completed a fortnight's work experience in November. This is always a huge success but this year's students really excelled themselves and so many employers made contact especially to say that the calibre of the students was exceptional even by our normally outstanding standards. It is no surprise therefore that a record number of students received highly commended certificates and we congratulate them all: Jessica Antonio Lauren Codling Lauren Gidney Shaun Leeks Abbie Ranner Charlie Stephen Daisy Bailey Hannah Cogan Katherine Goodchild Oliver Leighton Hannah Raper Lauren Stephenson Michael Baldwin James Coleman Liam Hailstone Hannah Liles Harry Raven Harry Stone Luke Bancroft Esther Colman Elliot Hall George Lines Natasha Rawlings Kaya Stone Madeleine Bantick Ayesha Copping Matthew Hardy Daisy Lord Alice Rayner Rebecca Swan Jennifer Barker Jordan Cousins Abigail Harrington Courtney Mackie Joseph Redmore Jessica Sweeney Sammie Barnes Laura Couves Samuel Harrison Glenn Macloughlin Aidan Reilly Roman Symonds Hilary Beale Katie Cross Emma Hart Charlotte Malone Megan Render Heather Talbot Brittany Benton Jennifer Croydon David Hart Victoria Mann Edward Richards Lacey Taylor Kelly Betts Rowen Darlow Leah Harvey Richard Mayne Elizabeth Rose Robert Thomas Paige Bird Alexander Davison Mohammed Hasan Chloe McMath Laura Rourke Benjamin Tohall Liam Bloomfield Jamie Dawson Melissa Heath Harriet Mills Derek Rutter Miranda Wadham Jordan Blows Ryan Deeney Jordan Hempstead Abbie Morphew Hayley Rutterford Rebecca Wagner Ellis Blyth Macauley Delo William Hempstead Zebedee Morrison Minh Thu Saggers Ryan Wagner Kane Boardman Gareth Denney Jessica Henson Ashleigh Morton Hannah Sainsbury Leanne Wallis Benjamin Bodewes Lee Docherty Jade Hogg Danica Murcutt Rhys Sargeant Lauren Warford Liam Borley Keeley Dove Connor Honeybell Zane Murray Rebecca Scopes Holly Warren Harry Boulter Tameka Drayton Jasmin Honeybell Jordan Neal Georgina Scott Rosie Waters Emily Bradley Amy Drummond Joseph Hooker Sam Nelson Alatina Selkirk Paige Watts Sian Bradshaw Roxy Dudley Samuel Hughes Hollie Neville Shannon Seppings Sarah Welsh Laura Bramwell Rachel Earl Jordan Hughes Chelsey-May Newell Donna Seymour Nathan Whiles James Branch Samuel Emerson Aaron Hull-Archer Tamara Osborne Alice Shelton Eleanor White Liam Branthwaite Lucy Emmerson Lewis Jarman Harry Alfred Palmer Helen Slade Daizy White Paul Brian Lauren Farrell Kerry Johansen Callum Palombo Fiona Smee Gabrielle Whitehurst Clark Broadwood- Billy(Connor) Ford Harriet Johnson Ceres Pap Alex Smith Annabel Whyte Smith Hazel Forde Danielle Jones Elizabeth Pape Deanna Smith Kirstin Wilkinson William Brocklebank Sarah Foreman Harry Jones Kevin Pask Molly Smith Tammy Williams Laura Button Samuel Freeman Maisie Kilner Jonathan Pateman Lydia Smith Danielle Winterman Harriett Byrne Michaela Frost Eden Kirin Christian Perez Robert Sore Emma Winward Faith Carpenter Lucy Frost Poppi Knight Ryan Pettit Lucy Southern Rebecca Wood Desire Carpio Jessica Gaskell Annabel Lane Abigail Plume Jack Southgate Karis Wright Natalie Carter Michelle Gault Matthew Last Grace Pocock Jamie Southwould John Young Thomas Chadwick Elizabeth George Charlotte Leaman Hannah Pollard Camilla Stanton It proved a real challenge to select just twenty-four prizewinners. This month we have been treated to a Christmas Concert in school and our traditional annual service of carols and lessons held in St Mary's Church. In addition, a number of our musicians have continued to perform for Christmas events in the local community. As the terms ends, we thank Miss Green, Miss Howard, Mr Jenkins and our peripatetic team for their exceptional dedication, musicianship and enthusiasm which ensures that music remains at the very heart of our school; its quality much admired by all who know us.

The Christmas Concert

The concert featured twelve of our ensembles in a largely light-hearted celebration of the festive season. The audience was treated to music spanning the centuries from Vivaldi to the present day and included a Strauss polka and excerpts from Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker" all played to a high standard. The Carol Service Our annual traditional service in St Mary's Church is for many of the congregation the start of their Christmas and this year's was a wonderful reflection of its true meaning. We thank our choristers and brass ensemble, our readers, Mr James Thomas for playing the organ and the Reverend Malcolm Rogers for leading the service.
