During that span the Wildcats topped 20 points in all 13 games played in 2019, only the third time in school history and the first CHRISTIAN BENFORD (Senior, DB) time since 1997 the team scored at least 20 points in every game of a season. 2018 n CAA Defensive Rookie of the Year n Over the last 20 games played – a stretch that begins with a game at Richmond on November 3, n CAA Third Team Defense 2018 – the Wildcats have averaged 35.3 points per game. COLE BUNCE (Graduate, K) OFFENSIVE LINE 2020 n One of the keys to the Wildcats offensive success during the 2019 season carried over to the spring n CAA Special Teams Player of the Week (3.15) campaign and that was the excellent play of the team’s offensive line. Villanova led CAA Football and ranked 10th in the FCS in fewest sacks allowed in 2019 when the offensive line gave up just MICHAEL CORBI (Senior, OL) 14 sacks in 13 games played (1.08 sacks per game). That number was even better this past spring 2020 when the Wildcats ranked seventh nationally with just four sacks allowed in four games played. n CAA First Team Offense DEFENSIVE DOINGS 2021 n Villanova did a phenomenal job of stopping the opposition on third down during the slate of four n CAA Preseason All-Conference Team spring games earlier this year. In the four games the Wildcats opponents converted on third down just 24.4 percent of the time (10-of-41).
