After a two- month break which culminated in the IHF Men’s World Championship, the time has finally come to shift the focus from the national teams to the continental top flight. There were as many as 108 Champions League players present in Germany and Denmark and no fewer than 14 gold medallists from Denmark have returned to their clubs determined to carry on riding the wave of success in the Europe's premium competition. In total, 40 EHF Champions League stars claimed a medal. The situation in Groups A and B is wide open and all 16 participants still have a chance to claim a place in the knockout stage. Two European powerhouses dominate in the competition after 10 rounds: Barça Lassa enter the home straight of the group phase with a five-point lead ahead of Vardar in Group A, while Paris Saint-Germain Handball, the only club with a full set of medals from the World Championship, sit atop Group B. However, anything can happen in the last four rounds and a pack of fierce rivals still eye the direct ticket to the quarter-finals reserved only for the group winners. A dramatic fight can be expected also in the lower half of the rankings as all teams will certainly keep on fighting until the dying moments of the games in the last round for their chance to reach the Last 16. Meanwhile, the four most successful teams of Groups C/D are about to battle it out for two Last 16 tickets as Sporting CP take on Dinamo Bucuresti and Orlen Wisla Plock face Bjerringbro-Silkeborg in the play-off matches. While teams and players enjoyed a winter break, a number of important decisions have been made in the past two months. The City of Cologne and the LANXESS arena have been confirmed as the EHF FINAL4 hosts through to 2024 and a new look for the EHF club competition system has been agreed. From the 2020/21 season, the EHF Champions League will be played with 16 teams and there is a new name and a new format for the second tier of competition as the ’EHF Cup’ becomes the ‘European Handball League’. As the pace on the road to Cologne and the VELUX EHF FINAL4 on 1/2 June 2019 increases, there is much to look forward to over the coming weeks. A elaboração do Balanced Scorecard, acompanhado pelo Mapa Estratégico, permitiu identificar factores críticos de sucesso, linhas de orientação estratégica e objectivos estratégicos para a organização em estudo, com indicadores, metas e iniciativas, efectuando a sua interligação com a estratégia definida pela Direcção do clube. Este projecto permitiu ainda reunir competências adquiridas na Licenciatura em Economia e no Mestrado em Gestão, complementando a análise com a minha visão como atleta de alta- competição e utilizadora do Multidesportivo.

Some speak about the footballizaton of Portuguese society', and criticize the hegemony of football in Portuguese culture, along with it the close (and sometimes dangerous) connec- tions between football and politics . What is so interesting about this phenomenon is that it is juxtaposed with other facts, such as stadium attendance being surprisingly low. The essay brings to the forefront the particularities of the Portuguese football social formation case by taking these two current realities as a point of departure . In analysing stadium attendance over three decades against specific historical backgrounds, the authors present six different factors which explain the paradox and come to the conclusion that both realities are not contradictory – but partly determining each other. Someone was saying yesterday that Norway is the top-ranking country in human development; ( .. .) that it's a fantastic country and so on and so on ( .. .) But here's back at them . Portugal is at the top of its group and all it needs is a draw to qualify 30 for the World Cup while Norway is five points behind the leader of its group! ( .. .) Ha ha ha!
