MONEY LAUNDERING: In order to comply with money laundering regulations we will not accept payments in cash exceeding £9,000. Cash payments of over £4,000 must be accompanied by valid proof of identity ie passport/driving licence supported by 2 utility bills, bank statement or equivalent. BUYERS’ PREMIUM: A buyer’s premium of 12% including VAT on the premium will be payable by all purchasers at the Reading General Sales. BUYERS’ PREMIUM ON MOTOR VEHICLES VEHICLES SOLD ON BEHALF OF THE OFFICIAL RECEIVER, LIQUIDATORS & PRIVATE ENTRIES LOTS 1501 – 1600 5% plus VAT buyer’s premium will be charged on every lot (subject to a minimum of £20, plus VAT) VEHICLES SOLD AS UNRESERVED GOVERNMENT ENTRIES LOTS 1601 – 1700 15% plus VAT buyer’s premium will be charged on every lot SEIZED VEHICLES LOTS 1701 – 1800 20% plus VAT buyer’s premium will be charged on every lot VALUE ADDED TAX: All items consigned by VAT registered vendors are indicated by v alongside the lot numbers and VAT at the standard rate will be added to the Purchaser’s account in respect of these lots. No VAT will be payable upon the items consigned by unregistered vendors. Any known variation in the VAT status of vendors will be announced by the Auctioneers when selling. ALL LOTS MUST BE PAID FOR ON THE DAY OF SALE. The market will be closed for clearance 1½ hours after the selling is over, approximately 2.00pm but no later than 2.30pm. DESCRIPTIONS: All lots have been described in the catalogue from information supplied by the Vendors. The Auctioneers accept no responsibility whatsoever for any misdescriptions, faults or deficiencies in any lot whether described in the catalogue or given orally either prior to or at the time of sale. Intending purchasers must satisfy themselves by inspection or otherwise as to the correctness of any such statement. ALL LOTS ARE SOLD WITHOUT WARRANTY and are sold for spares or repair, unless specifically stated in the catalogue as in good working order. Any complaints concerning goods sold in “good working order” (gwo) must be made within two days of sale date. PROSPECTIVE PURCHASERS will be given the opportunity, wherever possible, to test computers and other similar office equipment on the day prior to sale between the hours of 2.00pm and 4.00pm. There will NOT be an opportunity to test equipment on the day of sale. REMOVAL OF GOODS: Payment is due in full on the day of sale. All lots remain at the risk of the purchaser from the fall of the hammer and should be removed as soon as possible thereafter. MOTOR VEHICLES: An immediate cash deposit of £200 (£100 on vehicles under £2000) is payable at the fall of the hammer on the purchase of all motor vehicles. NO REMOVAL OF LOTS WILL BE ALLOWED UNTIL CHEQUES HAVE BEEN CLEARED UNLESS A BANKER’S REFERENCE HAS PREVIOUSLY BEEN RECEIVED. DISTRAINED GOODS: Lots entered by Order of H.M. Customs & Excise, County Courts, Inland Revenue, Liquidators or High Court Enforcement Officers may, under certain circumstances, be redeemed by the owners at any time prior to the actual sale of such lot(s). EXPORT PURCHASERS should ensure that the country of destination has no import or currency restrictions on the goods they wish to purchase.
