The Candles Annual Report 2015-2016 THE CANDLES FIRST YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS • The Candles first year anniversary was celebrated on Aug 9th 2015 at St.Christopher college of education, Vepery. • Dr.Naresh Gupta I.A.S., and Dr.Prateep Philip I.P.S., were participated in the event as Chief Guest. • Dr.Shanthini Kapoor memorial award and various cultural programmes were conducted during the event. • The Candles Board members, Advisory committee peoples, Staff and their family members participated and grace the event. We distributed those collected relief materials to Villivakkam Leprosy colony & Avadi Gypsy colony and three villages in Cuddalore district. The main aim of this center is to serve the Elder peoples in the village and the society. Along with that, we are doing lot of welfare activities for the children in the Kristhukandigai village. Abstract The significance of green public spaces is well documented in relation to social inclusiveness, human health, and biodiversity, yet how green public spaces achieve what Gough (2017) has termed ‘sustainable wellbeing' is less understood. This contribution presents preliminary results from a study of green public spaces in four mega-cities of South and Southeast Asia: Chennai (the Republic of India), Metro Manila (the Republic of the Philippines), Singapore (the Republic of Singapore), and Shanghai (the People's Republic of China), cities that have climates ranging from tropical, to subtropical and temperate. The conceptual framework brings together social practice theories with human development theories, methodological implications for the study of park usage, and Protected Needs. This study sets out to understand how parks satisfy human needs by uncovering practices in relation to activities and material arrangements.
