“Iliska is a tremendous talent, as evidenced by her selection to repre- sent South Africa at the World Team Championships last fall,” said Mant.

“She faced a slight slump in the spring, which I know disappointed her. All great athletes will get that at one time or another, and Iliska worked her way out. She played much better than the results showed at the end of the year. I really think that she has grown through that dif-

Fully recovered, Scott’s consistent play helped her to fi nish the season as the top-ranked golfer in the Colonial Athletic As- sociation. From the beginning of the spring semester through the CAA Championship, Scott never fared worse than fourth overall, fi nishing second once and fourth three times.

The spring semester also introduced freshman Charlotte Lorentzen to the Georgia State lineup. “Charlotte really added a dimension to our team because of her consistent play,” said Mant. “She’s a great competitor, and it really showed with her toughness in Miami and the Regional. She does not give up, just keeps fi ghting, and as a coach, I love that attitude.”

Lorentzen joined the squad in January and immediately made an impact, fi nishing 14th at the Qdoba Invitational in Miami. Lorentzen broke through in a big way during the Panthers’ sec- ond trip to Florida, when she fi nished second overall at the Sun- Trust Lady Gator Invitational against an elite fi eld. Lorentzen earned CAA Player of the Week for her hard work and eventu- ally received the CAA Rookie of the Year award at season’s end.
